My experience with many properties, franchises and art pieces has convinced me that some people just want to see the same thing--the same story--done over & over again. There's nothing wrong with media comfort zones, I certainly have mine, but that's such a reductive and restrictive position.

“you’re going to die because of this” is not a thing i’d ever say to a trans kid, whose life is hard enough as is. i didn’t get the care i needed. i survived. “some trans kids will die because of this” *is* a thing a lot of cis people need to hear. the ones whose “reasonable concerns” led here.
