Not just ICE. DHS, in its current form, has failed. We messed up in the wake of 911, and we should fix it.

Seems difficult to justify on a cost-benefit basis, given that the benefits don’t really exist.

As I tell my students (almost universally local govt folks), you never get to decide about resource allocation (except on the extreme margins). That requires a vote!

Going to the city, yes. I'm going west.

I like my planning colleagues, but their overall understanding of local politics tends to be very poor.

List view is on the roadmap (2 on the list, and all lists are assumed to be rank-ordered), so I expect them to integrate it very soon. I'm pretty sure Tasks is an API thing, so that also seems high on the list.

I'd be on board if you could do the latter two, not as a replacement, but as a supplement. Going for a walk or a bike ride with just a phone would be nice. Otherwise, why?

I didn't think we'd ever get to the point where we'd have a US Tiananmen Square-style incident, but the last few days' events make me far less optimistic that we won't.

Pretty sure a lot of police officers would be far more hesitant to use a rubber bullet if they've been lined up and hit with one from 10 yards every 2-3 years.

To point 1, this is why possibly (as a thought experiment) moving to the southwest is morally fraught. Given the way west-of-the-Mississippi water laws work, if you’re at the end of the water chain and there’s no more water, you get no water. Not inconceivable that Phoenix runs out of water.
