It seems to me that #socialmedia platforms go through a four stage lifecycle: 1 User Growth - a new friendly platform grows its user base. Good times. 2. Engagement growth - algorithms take over to maintain financial growth. 3. Chaos - bots move in. 4. Collapse - people leave to a new platform.
