Well, this was fun while it lasted. Unfortunately, it's no longer processing my passcode input over the phone line. There is a jumper block on the circuit board that defines the passcode, and that's in tact, so I'm not sure what exactly is wrong with it. I guess this'll be an interrogation. 🧵

back on TWC in 1982 you could literally just win stuff by calling in and answering questions. this tote bag for example was given away to whoever counted the number of times they ran the local forecast between announcing the giveaway and answering the phone. i'd answer that in a heartbeat!

is there ANY sane human being who can tell me WHAT is going wrong? this PAT/PMT packet seems perfectly normal, the packets are being delivered on the right multicast address, under the right port, with the correct PIDs. and yet, i cannot seem to pull video from it in VLC or ffplay. #networking
