Virtually every number or statistic Trump throws out on any subject - polls, election results, casualty figures, immigration, taxes, spending, economic, gas or food prices, - 95% of the time he uses a number for anything it is patently false and wildly exaggerated in his favor.

Like the wall of insults against Canada, the Trump administration is building a wall of suspicion that may scare international students away from UW and other schools, writes columnist Danny Westneat.

Pretty good turnout for a Green Lake protest walk in Seattle this afternoon, plus some great tunes and dancing from @dance4democracy.bsky.social

On CNBC today, Elizabeth Warren had to explain to anchor Sara Eisen that Congress can in fact take away Trump's tariffs authority, and also that America is not ruled by a king who can make laws by decree.

It couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. 😉 www.seattletimes.com/nation-world...

Today was Tax Day. Or, if you're Elon Musk, Donald Trump, or Jeff Bezos, Tuesday.

Trump, who (falsely) claimed during his election campaign that Biden wasn't doing ENOUGH to assist with NC's hurricane recovery....wait for it....just revoked Biden's Dec 2024 hurricane clean-up reimbursement agreement. #ncpol ncnewsline.com/2025/04/12/f...

Biden: Why are these guys taking aim at social security now? They are following that old line from tech startups. The quote is move fast, break things. Well, they are certainly breaking things… They want to wreck it so they can rob it

Your Tax Day reminder that trickle-down economics is a cruel hoax designed to enrich the wealthy and corporations while draining money for the middle class and the poor. Don't let billionaires fool you into thinking we shouldn't tax the rich.

Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space venture executed a smooth suborbital spaceflight for an all-female crew that included pop superstar Katy Perry, morning-TV host Gayle King — and Lauren Sanchez, Bezos' fiancée. The flight generated celebrity buzz, but criticism as well. www.geekwire.com/2025/blue-or...

Sunny Sunday morning in Seattle #photography #Seattle #spring

Seems pretty clear that doge is a total scam

If you start hearing about “unemployment benefits for people born in the future,” it’s another DOGEbag fact-bungle. Here’s the scoop. #MusksMinions #BagOfRocks FREE to read, please REPOST www.nytimes.com/2025/04/12/u...

This political cartoon by David Horsey in @seattletimes.com gets it exactly right: RFK Jr's "health" advice is dangerous. https://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/rfk-jr-s-cures-are-recipes-for-disaster/

Trump's approval numbers are bad and getting worse. He's underwater on most of the "Select pollsters" in the @nytimes.com roundup. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/polls/donald-trump-approval-rating-polls.html?unlocked_article_code=1.-U4.0xde.0dXWeN7mWbFR&smid=url-share

Amen.

Tariffs on their own do not create more American jobs or lead to more US production. In fact, Trump's last trade war cost roughly 300,000 jobs. All these tariffs will do is give corporations cover to jack up prices and pad their profits at our expense.

"Trump was a great businessman" is a fiction created by the producer of "The Apprentice." Before the show, Donald bankrupted three business and was billions of dollars in debt. He was only able to sustain the illusion of success because Deutsche Bank gave him big loans & Daddy gave him big handouts.

The consensus on Wall Street among savvy people paid millions to predict things was exactly what very low-information voters thought: "Trump can't mean what he says because that's ridiculous, what he'll really do is what I personally hope he does."

Donald made sure to squeeze in two days of golf this weekend ⛳

Agreed! Trump’s response to tanking the economy is “Let them play 18 holes.”

Tapper: "Why are you putting import tariffs on islands that are entirely populated by penguins?" The Agriculture Secretary dismissed the question with a "whatever."

Share if you agree

Obama: Imagine if I had done any of this. Imagine if I had pulled Fox News’ credentials. Imagine if I had said to law firms that you will not be allowed into government buildings. It’s unimaginable that the same parties that are silent now would have tolerated behavior like that from me

Yes! You also reported on this in The Outsiders podcast. Some want to believe homeless is a moral failing, but it starts with the cost of rent. Thanks for highlighting this article!

Imagine the fallout if Biden had intentionally tanked the markets like this—and Democrats had cheered him along like it was all just some necessary disruption.

Donald Trump’s massive new tariffs mean higher prices and more chaos at the expense of American families—just to help pay for tax handouts to billionaires and big corporations. Let me explain:

People old enough may remember Trump making noises about lowering grocery prices way back in 2024. Well, now we’re tracking how well that’s going — just in time for his tariffs to kick in. Gift link: wapo.st/3E052cZ

Are we winning yet?

Great explainer from @theguardian.com on Trump's tariffs. One reason the US runs deficits with many countries: Our goods are simply too expensive.

Dark Pence is back.

Always a good, illuminating read from @brianstelter.bsky.social
