The card was based on the Yamaha YM3812 chip, the same chip that would later power the AdLib we all know. Only a handful of Music Box prototypes are believed to exist.
This image comes from early promotional brochures for the Olivetti PC1.

In 1986, Olivetti approached the then-unknown AdLib with a request to develop a sound card—called the Music Box—for their upcoming PC1 computer. However, the deal fell through. Looks like Olivetti was seeking an exclusive agreement, while AdLib preferred to release the Music Box to a broader market.

I remember seeing it in Italian arcades. Maybe not as ubiquitous as others, but still.

I remember the times my brother used to make music with his Atari ST, Cubase and a Korg M1 synthesizer.
Korg had great sound samples too.

Yes I got so mad when I heard the box rattling with all those broken pieces.
At least I got a full refund. Now Adrian’s Digital basement has it.

That’s a great idea.
Check this Italian page (you might want to google translate it)
There’s a bunch of software you can download on the bottom.

Don't mention it.
This is how I received a 1551. Almost zero padding inside the box.

The graphic chip of this machine (Yamaha) is capable of showing 16 colors out of 512.
Some Italian nerds made demos and converted Doom to show 16 colors with this computer

Wow, I never heard of filmstrips, despite being born in 1976.
Where I’m from, slide films were the popular media in schools.

I saw this game at a friend’s house, and made me think whether I should jump ship and leave the Amiga world.
I did so shortly after, when I played Jetfighter II on a 286 20mhz.
