⚓️ New Article: The stack layout in modern CSS

A while back, @miriam.codes floated the idea of a Netflix for Dev Educators, run as a creator-owned co-op. She told me she doesn't have time to do anything with it, currently, so I'm curious: - Would you subscribe to something like that? - Any of my dev educators interested in joining?

I cannot describe how much I hate scrolljacking.

It will never cease to amaze me how people will talk over disabled folks, tell us we’re wrong, infantilize us etc… and yet they can’t realize that in refusing to believe us and give us agency they’re almost always proving our point. We aren’t listened to. We aren’t believed. Ableism is everywhere

I didn't recite "with Liberty and Justice for all" every morning in school just to be called Radical for wanting Liberty and Justice for ALL as an adult.

You and your children will breathe more air pollution because of this action. People will have more asthma attacks. People will have more heart attacks. All while climate impacts accelerate.

The sole criteria I will be voting on in the 2028 primary is which candidate credibly promises to put the largest number of Trump officials in prison. I do not care about any of their other policies.

Apple’s ‘liquid glass’ contrast hilarity is now a bullet on my post “I Don’t Care What Google or Apple or Whoever Did” adrianroselli.com/2020/03/i-do... Please please PLEASE do not copy Aero, er, Glass in your Figmas. #accessibility #a11y #UX

There are two problem-solving approaches: 1) identify a problem that you want to solve, then find a method that will solve it or 2) pick a method you want to use, and go hunting for problems. The second way is the stupid way, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that it's the default method in tech.

Ironing out some details for KelpUI ahead of releasing some alpha code. 1. Went with the Progress LGBTQ flag colors because they're so damn gorgeous! 2. Creating a theme-builder so you can easily customize things without build tools. 3. Going with a Fair Code license. kelpui.com

If you're posting current screenshots from Twitter, that means you still have a Twitter account, which means regardless of your intent you're just giving business to the Nazi bar. Please cancel your Twitter account (added side bonus: fewer Twitter screenshots on BlueSky!)

Whenever I see someone give a talk about CSS I always get reminded how awesome it is! It’s always getting better and solving problems in simple ways! So underrated for what it does!! (Great talk by @5t3ph.bsky.social about Modern CSS at @webdirections.org )

This really underscores how much neurotypical folks are unused to being direct and honest. Thunberg’s (who has Autism) candor is refreshingly shocking, and also quite normal for my fellow neurodivergent folks.

For what its worth, I'm in the most "safe" group of demographics: straight, cis, abled, and white. It's still none of a prospective employer's fucking business. I don't answer out of solidarity. ✊

I’m loath to share interviews with myself, but I really had a wonderful time sitting down with Ellen McGirt over at @designobserver.com. We spoke about my (too short) time at 18F, about responsive design turning 15, and about the urgent need for collective action — and, yes, unions — in tech.

I've seen SO MANY employer websites now asking if you're... - Gay - Trans - Disabled - Nonwhite I am NOT answering those. In the current political environment, they should NOT be asking that shit.

Long covid is now the most common chronic health problem in children, even surpassing asthma.

Tell me again how Doechii is "an industry plant." You can really imagine someone like Ice Spice having this conversation?

Anybody here works at Etsy & would consider giving a referral? Please share, this could be really helpful after being laid off <3

Always relevant. Even more so this week. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkZ5... RIP Nip

Also, our very own co-founder @tinavasquez.bsky.social has written this brilliant op-ed for @prismreports.org about the ICE raids in LA, and how communities are rising up to defend themselves. The Flytrap says FUCK ICE, to be absolutely clear. prismreports.org/2025/06/09/l...

As someone who *still* wears an N95 to protect my high-risk child from airborne viruses, I saw this coming weeks ago.
