Just binged all 3 seasons of Mr. Inbetween on Disney+ this week. What an amazing series. As good as it was I hope they never make another episode, because the final shot of the final season was just perfection. 😙👌

It's the moment you've all been waiting for...

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Fast-forward 2000 years....

If you'd asked me which of these two sets of cover designs were the self-published POD editions, and which were the forthcoming trad-published editions soon to be available in all good bookshops, I think I'd have got the answer completely wrong! Not judging, just fascinated as ever by such things.

At some point BlueSky has to pivot to the "actually make some money" phase of its operation, whether via advertising or subscription services, and I worry that people are going to completely flip out when it does.

Hello lovely people of Bluesky! My name's Michelle and I'm the owner of B For Butterfly Books, a small independent bookshop based in Sale, Greater Manchester. I'm hoping this will be my 'forever-social-media-home' after lots of channel-hopping 😁

Holed up in my pit with a dose of the 'flu, just in time for my week off work. 🙄 Negative on COVID so far. Any other time the repeated frisson of chills cascading from my shoulders to my lower back might be pleasant, but combined with aching muscles, a cough & a bad head, no. 🥶

Bluesky has been flooded with automated reply bots - they'll offer a sort of confrontational opinion as a reply. They're pretty convincing and we all need to train ourselves to not reflexively reply to all responses until we check Dead giveaway is new acct, few followers + original posts

Listen to them, the children of the night. What music they make.

Let's have some fun tomorrow. Come hang out with me, Eliane, and Ed as we talk books! I've never hosted before so we're gonna have a GREAT TIME. tinyurl.com/clubcontango @elianeboey.bsky.social @edashtonwriting.bsky.social

Me, trying to convince my colleague that Deep Impact is a good movie: "Deep Impact is to Armageddon, as Contact is to Independence Day." My colleague: "Yeah, I didn't like Contact either."

I'm really tempted by the upcoming Criterion 4K dual-edition of Jean de Florette & Manon des Sources, except for the fact that they've called the second movie "Manon of the Spring", which really grates. 😣 It's not even in the plural!

I'm not a huge David Lynch aficionado, but he did make one of my all-time favourite movies, even if it wasn't one of his all-time favourites. Sad news.

Brilliant. Thanks Google. 😄

Today I found out that The Stripper theme (BADA BA BAAA, etc.), rather than being some old-timey vaudeville music-hall classic, was in fact only composed in 1958.
