Even a small chance of this package passing is too much. Please write when you get the chance.

Just write one paragraph that you strongly oppose these cuts. Funds for Health has ***outdated*** email templates (fundforglobalhealth.org/write-to-congr…) if you've never done this before. But you can easily update them to reflect the current rescission package (brookings.edu/articles/trump)

If funding for public grocers was appended to (Biden–)BBB the harshest reaction we'd have seen in 2021 was a bit of eye-rolling. We've lost our sense of scale on the things that matter.

Genuinely one of the funniest sentences I've read in a while.

John Mulaney saying, "I like people and I'm generally happy and not deeply angry, so I'm a Democrat" remains the most insightful remark about American partisan politics I've heard as an adult.

The reason is that profit margins are too low; gelatin is already cheap and many vegetarians/vegans can't be bothered to boycott it completely (multiple of my prescriptions come in gel caps 🤷‍♀️). But like there are enough vegetarians out there that this should be viable.

I still put mayo in my pasta salad. Mayo's good, you just gotta balance it.

Birthright citizenship is economically efficient. It's not even that.

The difference between pasta salad and macaroni salad is the difference between coleslaw (homemade, lightly dressed, elegant, sensual) and coleslaw (from a store bought tub, drowned in mayo, shameful, gauche).

Frankly the native Siberian populace have experienced the very worst of imperialism in the last 200 hundreds. No one deserves recognition as the Global South more than the inhabitants of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.

Getting ahead of public opinion shifts requires knowing how things work, I'm afraid.

Everyone is saying price controls, and like I hope it's something like that, but he also drops a comment about the world paying more to compensate 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

I am trying to figure out what executive order he could be signing here.

I opened up YouTube today and was immediately recommended a NorthernLion video where he plays Juxtastat 🤯

They've built a state-pressured media system that demands suicidal ideation from old men whose wives do all the housework and treats it like a sports game. Pakistan is directionally similar, but orders of magnitude less severe

Racial depolarization is probably causally related to declining church attendance honestly.

We enacted 10% baseline tariffs on the whole world, be fr for a second. I am under no illusions that Europe is a Disneyland of social democracy, but we can no longer say "America isn't worse than Europe, just different". Today, we are worse.

Yeah history plays the biggest role, but consider the point of religion again. Churchs, esp in the south, are precisely the sort of civil society we do still have. White churches say vote for Republicans, black ones for Democrats. We used to also have unions, etc, as countervailing forces.

Their far right politics aren't (yet) as catastrophic as ours 🤷‍♀️

You couldn't live with your own failure. Where did that bring you? Back to me.
