I was wandering along my favorite river to wander along a few weeks ago and I kept seeing these tiny spiders skittering around the beach and I stopped to look at them up close. I'm told that this one is most likely in the genus Pardosa, though I don't know the species. Such cool camouflage!

This is a little Flying Saucer Ladybug (Anatis rathvani) hanging out on a big green Catalpa leaf! I noticed that most of the ladybugs on this tree were on or near the petioles of the leaves, just like this one. Maybe if aphids were to spread to the leaf, they'd come across the petiole?

Earlier this summer I took this picture of an aster (Symphyotrichum spp.) in Western Montana that I really liked, so I thought I'd share. I'm bad at identifying Symphyotrichum to species, but it might be Symphyotrichum laeve? Feel free to correct me.
