I make videos about all the strange, wonderful games you'll probably never see on gaming news outlets or on the shelf of a game store over at https://www.youtube.com/@CharlatanWonder . #1 hater of the word "content". Secretly a cooking show. Possibly a cat

Maybe this is all a "Me" problem: perhaps this is my own fault setting too high of an expectation and thinking that we'd all look inwards before coming here and wouldn't end up trading one evil for another, that grifters and bots wouldn't flock here or that we wouldn't start pointless drama here.

This site could have been great. COULD have been great, but so many people refused to acknowledge their own hangups and learn their lessons going forward so now it resembles mid 2010s Tumblr more than original Twitter. I'll still be here but it's far from my main hangout these days.

I myself am spending a lot less time here and more back on the old site because at least there the "don't show me stuff like this" button works. Ironically in the wake of 4chan GG'ing this site ended up being the containment board. Oddly enough Twitter is... Better? Now that certain people are here

And then insult to injury is that the marks have the gall to try and scold us for not falling for the scams and disinfo campaigns on some kind of demented moral ground. And for me and everyone else who just wanted a pre-2014 Twitter experience that's really killing the mood.

Only to immediately and frequently fall for the bait posts of bots and possible troll farms. It was so bad at a point that I was almost hoping all the replies to those AI-slop political posts by accounts with Michelle Obama or Kamala Harris PFPs were bots too. Its embarrassing.

First and foremost many did not heed the warnings that I and others gave about leaving what made Twitter bad on Twitter. Hell at times Bluesky felt like Tumblr Exodus 2: performative progressivism boogaloo. Worse yet some of those folks thought they were too smart to get fooled by bots...

Same. This app was doing great for a hot minute but now it feels like I ask myself which flavor of internet poison do I want today?

Exactly, that's why I keep my condensor (AT2035). But it seems like everyone who wants to look like some kind of business mogul gets an sm7b just for the aesthetic and often it sounds like ass because it's not being used right.

I only know that a lot of devs gather in the Peri discord's ImSim chats. Other than that I got nothing; I try to stay out of most devs spaces as I'm not a dev and know that I'm not universally loved and therefore shouldn't strongarm my way into every space.

I'll definitely add it to the list once its ready to have a steam page. (As a matter of personal security I only download stuff from verified platforms e.g. steam) In the meantime for more productive help I'd suggest the Peripeteia discord or other places ImSim devs gather.

(2/2) unfortunately due to rising postage costs the margins were already getting thin enough to the point that I can't discount the yearly pledges anymore, but now with the materials I need to buy getting tariffed patches are already out of the question and aprons are tenuous right about now.

(1/2)The issue is that I don't sell my stuff, they're gifts. I don't charge shipping because you don't do that for a gift. The reason they're at the tier they're at is so that after materials cost the potential extra I get from pledges who only go to the US cover the cost of shipping internationally

Yup. these tariffs might even affect YouTuber's who make and ship things themselves. Aprons and Patches have always been free thank-you gifts for pledging during HiJ but I might not be able to do them if I'm getting bilked for tariffs on all my supplies.

"Bro we can put your creatine on the Blockchain. Solidify those gains in a smart contract that totally isn't just a malware payload... Please man, my girl left and I lost the house."
Like man I don't even use any weight training apps. I'm literally just logging my stuff on a spreadsheet.

At least out here it's far less likely that I'll get a bunch of AI slop avatars trying to "um ackshually" or "the future is now, just you wait" at me with their little toothpick legs.

Midjourney can make you look buff but everyone will spot that "style" from 100 yards out and that once change the fact that you're still a fucking wimp. Anyone that uses a chatbot to make a routine probably isn't gonna make it to February. A large language model can't progressive overload for you.

I don't have an personal experience, but I grew up in south OC and had a number of family friends who worked at Blizz and Red5. Heck, I think my dad still plays games online with some of the Red5 guys. I'll ask around and pass on your info if any of them wanna talk. No promises though.

It'll have to happen eventually. TCR's existence probably depends on it based on how they were pumped up for the purpose of fixing the mess that HL left. Honestly if I had to guess I'd say that the game is done*** they're just using this to get 6-7 months of extra QA and a seasonal release window.

Would definitely give me more of a reason to use Perambulate aside from moving an explosive barrel into the place where it could cause the most chaos. Perhaps to add more chaos in MP there could be a set of conditions or buttons you could press to toggle this. I dunno, I'm not a gamedev.
