50% of autistic people are compared to 20% of the gen pop so very likely!

they talked about this a little bit on the official podcast, it was quite interesting!

I would love to know how much electricity is getting wasted from completely unnecessary things like this and LED screen adverts in supermarkets

the trans storyline is pretty decent (apart from the cis actor, though I did see the director explain some of that) but I found the season itself so dull and repetitive and bad lol

it’s truly chipping away at my self worth at the moment in a way that I haven’t felt for a long while. and I don’t really know what to do with that. maybe it’s because I know more about who I am than I used to, so there is so much more to be frustrated about losing or not having in my grasp.

I’m so sick of this bodymind at the moment. I have so much I want to say and do and express but I can’t, because I am trapped and owned by my fatigue and pain.

as horrible as many things are the government and the media can’t erase us and I’m realising that actually lots of pockets of great work and real care are happening

my last psychiatrist tried to last year and genuinely - he barely knew how. sticked me like four times before he went “…maybe we’ll just have you come back in when the phlebotomist is here” 🙃 sometimes it’s okay to just say you can’t do something!

they are truly the best aren’t they

I wouldn’t be surprised tbh - I’ve been severely deficient since I was a teen - I’m wondering if it might also be b12 or iron instead as I at least supplement for vit D

yeah I get that!! I’m really praying it does and that they don’t try to overdo it for extra seasons etc

also the layer of joy trifle pots. oh my GOD.

oh absolutely - the privilege conversation is also something that I struggle to get people to recognise commonly

when people try to say these people aren’t autistic at all - the implication is that the autistic community is only good people. but many of us have been abused, harassed, had bad experiences inside the autistic community, and frankly, we don’t talk about it enough.
comment in response to post
they’re generally not abusive inherently *because* they’re autistic, and they shouldn’t be allowed to claim it as an excuse at all. but we also can’t pretend autistic people are infallible or angelic.

and I get it! you’ve learnt this thing about yourself that you have so little control over, of course there’s comfort in the concept of just unmasking and being yourself and that changing everything. but I think it’s starting to do more harm than good
comment in response to post
I think this is because people believe they can control their masking once they’re aware of it, when 1) it’s often unconscious and 2) it’s so layered we don’t even know what it looks like, and 3) there are lots of other issues and barriers that we simply have little to no control over in society.

yeah the particular post I saw recently was one that said the movement was “rotten to the core” for ignoring MSN/HSN and I think it’s misplaced from the subsection of the community that does that not the movement
