I am a thriller fiction novelist, writing a series, ‘Daria.’ I’d save every animal on this planet if I was given the chance.

2. It would be hard for a novelist to imagine a more telling scene in the larger story of our moment in which a privileged old man can’t say enough to be racist, can’t break enough laws to be incarcerated, can’t fail enough to be a failure and can’t be stupid enough to be stupid.

Very reasonable. If you are self-publishing, I would go full throttle—traditional, clean up the first thirty to fifty pages.

I grew up in a small town and always regretted certain aspects of elementary education —the reading requirements. Wuthering Heights is one that wasn't.

What you desire to read twice is only a gem—the pull back into the story means you were captured in the first place—and perhaps want a second round.

Always have an editor go through work—traditional or self publishing. Reedsy is a highly respected company—you’d be in the right hands.

I drop anything I don't care about —the essence of a great writer is to make the reader care because they do.

Depends if I’m writing or editing. I have just started a new novel, so the likelihood I will be reading anytime soon is pretty nil. But in between the gaps, 10 a year.

I wish I could produce a shelf life that— my stupidly—I give away all the books I read that I’m excited about to share with others. And I never get them back? What are you gonna do?
