Antisemitism in its late 19th century nationalist formulation is not only a hatred of Jews, but a particular belief about rootless internationalists and migration as a threat to the stability of hard national borders and identities. It can thus be structurally appealing to Jewish nationalists, too.

These age breakdowns are crazy, all you can conclude is a very divided country and that unlike the UK, it’s not the old people who are the biggest racists

A turnout of 83% in German elections is something we can only dream of in the UK. It’s nearly 25% more than the last uk general election. We should be really worried about that level of disengagement

So much of this

Can everyone see what’s going on here? Can international governments?

To me, a Nazi salute means, "I want to murder your family." There can be no irony about it: It puts deep anger and hatred in my heart to see it done and I will never forgive anyone who justifies or minimizes it.

I know you can’t judge everything by Instagram but there’s some people I follow (like people who work in the arts) who seem to be permanently on holiday and…I just wonder

You are witnessing the normalization of fascism right in your face. You are seeing the media’s “unbiasedness” sanitize fascism by giving these people the benefit of the doubt. These are not “Nazi-like”, these are Nazis. Beware the rhinoceros, before it’s too late.

So they haven't "banned the word man" at all then. It isn't even like this is new. It's been fairly standard for years to say things like "tradesperson". Gender neutral language isn't just perfectly normal already, it makes more sense for most things. The outrage machine is reaching at this point.

A story about nothing where someone interviews the most eccentric people they can find in King’s Cross. Glad this journalist has a job.

💥The Netherlands' largest pension fund, has sold its shares in Tesla, Meta, and Alphabet (Google). The fund with US $569 billion equivolent in assets is "directing more money to companies and projects that help to improve society and the environment." #Divest www.reuters.com/markets/euro...

I was set to launch my book at the Carter Library next month. This week, we were told all events now need approval from the National Archives. The next day, my event was forced to relocate. A book about the working homeless. A book about civil rights. Apparently these topics are now off limits.

it is a public health catastrophe that this guy has any sway at all in the national health picture, and it is a spiritual duty to pray for his failure at every imaginable level

The UK's anti-protest laws pre-legitimise far right authoritarianism. Labour must repeal them now. My column today. www.theguardian.com/global/comme...

I would like less Nazis please

I wonder about the extent to which these break because people* refuse to use them on principle. *Me. It's me. I've paid for my shopping, how dare you treat me like a bloody criminal.

I can't remember a tech campaign this relentless.

If, after watching this, you really do wanna find people who got hired despite their complete lack of talent, you don't have to look very far...

I keep thinking about the coldness of people who refuse to admit even an ounce of regret for a child being killed, because of their nationality. It doesn’t matter whether it’s antisemitism or not, it’s bad enough to me that you’re being cold heartless fuckers

Do we think Liz Truss and Nigel Farage will be interrogated about sharing a stage with this sort of thing when they get back to the UK?

So. Many. Shitheads. In the replies to this. It is not "standing with Palestine" to attack a Jewish person mourning dead Israeli civilians, any more than it's "standing against antisemitism" to excuse the Netanyahu government's genocidal actions against Palestinians.

I had the honor of speaking with the razor sharp Julia Wong about Enemy Feminisms, & she really gets it. Writers are not always so lucky to receive such care in journalism. Thank you Julia for putting so much thought into this offering which frames EF rightly as an antifascist strategy intervention

This is great and I beg of you, bring back a Kent station! www.theguardian.com/business/202...

How apt the symbolism is, on this battered planet, with #biodiversity in freefall and the future of us all in the balance as we slash through #PlanetaryBoundaries www.bbc.com/news/videos/...

Every day a new heartbreak in how children and the innocent are the victims, both Israelis and Palestinians. We need a whole load more compassion,

Glad this is being taken seriously and there’s a very clear explanation in there for why it’s wrong. So stop it and move on www.nytimes.com/athletic/614... #lufc

So grim and devastating and everyone should call out these murders for what they are. The deaths of innocent victims needs to stop everywhere now www.theguardian.com/world/live/2...

He’s a child. It’s not good that the producers don’t disclose this, but he’s a child, he’s also a victim www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

was really struck recently talking to a friend who spent six months in that corner of the world working and talking to people about their immediate future, he said he was struck by the extent to which all these countries were essentially convinced Russia would be nibbling on them by around 2027

Take the passion, the emotion, that feeling of elation out of the game…and there is no game. #LUFC

Next time I get done for speeding I'm going to say I just wanted to shock the camera into action

Yknow this is true, and if the left is sometimes guilty of only talking to itself then we have to also see that the right does it just as wildly

Labour under Attlee, with far greater economic challenges than today, had boldness, vision & a compelling story. Starmer’s Labour fails on all 3 counts, which amounts to laying out a welcome mat to Farage. On eve of publication of #AnotherEngland in paperback, I write for @prospectmagazine.co.uk👇

Different language, same outcome. As with Conservatives, Labour continue the same path of attacking the judiciary for upholding the laws the government would like to break to prevent people reaching safety. #r4today www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025...
