It's assumed your allies have worked with you long enough and your character shouting the equivalent of "Fire in the Hole" to not factor into the math of the game.
Firing through an enemy or neutral one: Cover. If target misses, up to DM to adjudicate, I favour speed of play over verisimilitude.

The Bastion of Broken Soul is an orgy of 3.X monster stats. I believe it was one of @brucecordell.bsky.social's (checks... yup it is).

“Searcher of souls” is a great Non-Beholder name… the massive mustache beholder. The Wilford Brimley of Beholders. I’ve got one here from Mirliton. Old Grenadier sculpt.
Mentioned in this blog post. greatdungeonnorth.blogspot.com/2018/11/beho...

I created a mechanical Beholder-like creature in my "Trobriand's Machination" Dungeon Mag article during the 4e years and Perkins and I named it the "Tyrranid"

She also showed me a game called "Princesses & Perils" an actual OSR game where you want to roll LOW on your d20.

I admire a lot of things about Yazeba's. Even if its not a game I want to play a lot, I draw a lot of inspiration from it. It does what it sets out to do well

Free League as an aggressive approach to closing deals with IPs and each successful project feeds the nect one.
No diss on @rustysellsword.bsky.social and Cortex, but licensing under MWP's Cortex leadership had a lot of challenges and obstacle from signing the license to executing on it.

It needs be said they also were at my side through trying to become a better version of myself. Through the narcissism, alcoholism, the biases, the creepiness, and all the wonderful challenges of a Gen-X cis het upbringing.
