Even before picking an attorney general, Joe should have recommended a special counsel, to be chosen by a bi-partisan commission of Senators and voted on by the entire congress. No congressional inquiry, no televised hearings, just the special counsel with full subpoena power.

After killing his wife and her latest sex partner.

You could say that about James Comey, Bill Barr, Jeff Sessions, Sarah Huckabee Sanders and on and on. Trump will never admit that anyone did anything for him.

What would be a positive, constructive thing to say about Trump's latest, utterly insane post?

He already accepted one. "I always wanted to get the Purple Heart!"

Your snark is completely useless.

If you think it would have been easy or even possible for him to say "Bibi is a war criminal we're not giving him a dime" than you're a fool.

It's really not that hard. Just never use the word Jizz. Never ever under any circumstances.

"Tried to build"? Was the whole project abandoned? I like to this so.

Wrong. I would have been more than satisfied if he'd held a town hall or did an interview on Fox or even CNN or held a long press conference. I was thrilled with his State of the Union just a few months before. But clearly something had changed. It wasn't just a "bad couple of hours."

Scripted public appearances. Everybody knew that wasn't going to cut it. He had to do a tough interview and a town hall, which never happened.

He was an 81-year-old man who looked 91. That was the problem. The debate was a disaster but he could have turned it around in the next two weeks if he'd done a town hall debate, a press conference with no prepared questions and/or a tough long form interview. He did none of those things.

I stand corrected.

Traditional Dems and moderates back most of this. Attacking them as stuck in the past or not doing enough to stop Trump just divides the party and is ultimately self-defeating.
comment in response to post
I think you'll find traditional Democrats, independents, etc. agree with virtually all of this.
comment in response to post
The more independents, moderates and disaffected Republicans join the Democratic party the less likely there will be a "progressive future." You want a big tent, you have to make compromises when it comes to policy.

A Democratic solution? Without controlling the house and senate? Sounds like a pipe dream. If the economy collapses (and it will) Republicans will pressure Trump to retire or take all of them down with him. You can bank on it. The protests are great, but they shouldn't be the only story.

If the polls continue to fall and the economy collapses, they will have no problem getting Democrats AND Republicans to impeach him.

He's a low-rent opportunist with no convictions about anything. If he watches Trump get impeached and convicted he'll turn moderate again faster than he became a Trumper.

And will Melania wear one of her "iconic" hats and matching scowls?

No, it's Democrats who couldn't be bothered to vote for Hillary or Kamala who put us here, not Rick. Those "cute little videos" did more to inform the general public of the dangers of Trump than just about anybody.
