The positive takeaway here is that this moment can serve as a positive influence on them all. "Oh, I had a friend who had a prosthetic as a kid and she was able to do all kinds of stuff, it didn't make her lesser." Interacting with different people when you're young gives you life experience early.

God willing, even if there’s some kangaroo court judging him guilty, surely time spent in a gulag counts toward time served

It feels like I’m on a runaway train and someone keeps shooting the levers that turn it on to the paths with all the warning signs

They are a couple of dicks, this is true. But I’d also argue that they’re both pussies, so that muddies the waters…

Yes, and move on to Superdimension Fortresss Macross and Super Sentai.

Yeah it involves a lot of bouncing on bombs and precise placement that the camera angles are really not conducive to.

It wouldn't work and it would collapse the whole network but I'm struggling to find how that's not still a win.

Quick, someone tell Lauren Boebert that MTG's been calling her a bitch behind her back in the halls!
comment in response to post
I have it on good authority that someone put a clause in there that determines, by legal mandate, that MTG is a chortling ninny. It says it right in there, somewhere. Can't remember the page. Guess someone would have to read it to find it.

The individual responsible for this tweet has been sacked. The individual responsible for firing the original poster has also been sacked.

Baba Jaeger? The funny thing is it does have an Activation Phrase "Hut, hut! Go Where I Say!". It basically really is just a magical mecha.

Experience has shown anyone confident and stupid enough could just walk into the FBI and demand it and walk out with it.
comment in response to post
I tend to post responses to other people more than on my own page, and I try to keep stuff in my own personal space a lot more geared toward positivity and stuff that makes me happy. Apologies to anyone who got here from something snarky and nihilistic I said somewhere. I'd rather share my happiness

Some tells are if they don’t identify themselves or if they link to a commercial website. Hell, even if it’s a .gov, go to that department’s actual website and look for something related. Most will say they don’t send you shit.

My heart goes out to anyone dumb enough to want to go touch toxic waste with their bare hands and call it bath water.

Boy, who wouldn’t want to be shackled to their employer for basic survival?

Her platform is explicitly to help the democratic part to NOT suck. That’s what reform is for. Because buddy when your leaders suck and everyone just goes along with it, then those people suck too. That’s why people who won’t just go along with the shitty leaders are needed. Why is this hard to get?
comment in response to post
It’s not republican messaging. It’s obvious to anyone with eyes. The saboteurs are the ones running the party. They’re Chuck Schumer who’d rather sell a fucking book than use the one chance they had to slow the republicans. It’s Hakeem Jeffries who’d rather leave it all up to god. They suck.
comment in response to post
Because the party would be fine if the people in the party were actually trying to do anything to live up to it and meet the moment instead of literally nothing. Party reform is a valid platform. She’s not running for president for fucks sake.
comment in response to post
Maybe the party needs to stop sucking so goddamn much then.

A really important discussion should be had about how school and college, in America at the very least, are so ingrained as just “I need this thing so I can get a job that will pay for my health care and keep my family from being ashamed of me” and the sunken cost problems inherent. They’re related.

The additional note of the breathing issues given to him later seemed like an extra step to draw that connection, given Vader’s well known breath noises.
comment in response to post
The main thing is that people keep referring in universe to him as a droid but in the background of a few scenes you see schematics for him that feature clearly organic parts, as is later revealed. It always seemed reasonable to me to assume it was tied to the tech used to save Vader.

Yes yes yes dear god yes, the child in me who grew up on Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8 has been craving some vehicular madness
comment in response to post
Such a cool character to be relegated to snidely whiplash in the end. I seem to remember lore that implied he was something of a prototype for the life support systems used to make Vader. It posed an interesting parallel. I might just be misremembering the Genndy Clone Wars cartoon though.

We could just as easily talk about why water isn’t already free to begin with. Or why healthy food is, on average, more expensive than junk (mostly it ties back into American agriculture’s limitations as I said earlier). But I’m only defending these individuals offering anything at all.
comment in response to post
There’s a big long discussion to be had about how America prioritizes corn to such a degree that our ability to provide any food much less healthy food suffers, but the point boils down to what this particular store, likely a privately owned franchise store, has to offer in this moment.
