And of course, not just Penn State, but a lot of our institutions put undue burden on our professors to produce more with less even when a basic tenant of many of these places is extension and service.

No, I am 100% agree that it is a lot. But I would get more het up about why an institution with an endowment like Penn State has 60 to 65% overhead. Not the adult person with a degree making $16/hr.

Students have to be able to eat and afford housing while they complete research and coursework, so I like it. I’d think it would get you better work and less burn out if they don’t have to have a second job to cover groceries.

Also, look at an older rescue. Less of the puppy issues, calmer, and not such a long term commitment.

As a lifelong fan and alumni of MissState, I have zero dogs in this fight. But having only met alumni from both universities in professional and social settings, there’s a severe imbalance with how often one of these schools’ alumni feels the need to define themselves by their university.

I love pitbull/bulldog mixes. They’re uber sweet and don’t need as much energy as some breeds. Perfectly happy to be house hippos. Will need occasional bathing to keep dander down.
