MAGAts say they are "auditing" those departments. They wouldnt need to "rehire" anyone if they actually understood ANYTHING about the agaencies or the functions.

Why do we have these trickling in 1 or 2 at a time? Mass layoffs in most departments, dredging operations with no visibility or accountability, allegations of fraud with no review. Where are the sweeping court orders that force the courts to wave a f-ing red card or at least a yellow card?

The reinstatement of previously fired Nuclear Workers is merely one instance how the blanket firings jeopardize the American people in countless callous idiotic ways. CDC, NOAA, FEMA, USAID, NIH, ...

The DOJ dismissal of Eric Adams charges to use as a policy threat should count under impeachment charges as bribery by extortion.

Everything Trump is trying to do could be accomplished with no illegality and no strain on the constitution...if he would work through congress. With both houses he SHOULD be able toget his agenda through. Utter disrespect for his OWN Representatives and his own Senators. Fuck HIM & MUSK

It appears Trump can attempt dozens of illegal acts simultaneously, and those illegal acts can only be stopped individually by multiple civil actions, rather than the victims of impacted agencies collectively asserting damage from the same set of illegal acts dismantling multiple agencies?

I get the idea that Trump is immune from prosecution for breaking the law in any of his official acts. (much as I think that is a ridiculous ruling for which Roberts should be ashamed). "Immune from prosecution" is a far cry from "cannot be stopped from committing an illegal act".

god this guy is an idiot. like, a stone cold idiot who sincerely believes that war fighting and preparedness is about having the biggest dick

When Trump was merely OUT ON BAIL the Supremes took the cases on an expedited basis. But now that at LEAST two judges AND his own VP indicate the administration will not be bound by judicial order, where the F are the SUPREMES? Clearly this is the very definition of a LAWLESS REGIME.

@maddow.msnbc.com gave me wonderful news this week with Tesla sales down 40-65% through most of the EU.

🚨 BREAKING: Illinois Governor JB Pritzker says he’s going to rename Lake Michigan to “Lake Illinois.” EPIC TRUMP TROLL!!! 🤣

A huge F ya'll to FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION. Constitution...?

The proposed Guantanamo compound for Illegal Immigrants is deeply troubling because it is explicitly extra-legal. It was troubling for terrorists in Afghanistan and Iraq. But Trump and Homan packing people away on just their own declaration that they are "BAD " and "ILLEGALS". I dont trust them.

FBI investigated felon Trump. - they've gotta go... Attorneys prosecuted Trump. - gotta go. NOAA embarassed Trump. - ditto. So how much institutional knowledge at CIA will be lost when those folks are dropped? Who would benefit? Putin Puppet thinks he knows.

Winning Ffinal Jeopardy answer: What did the Putin-puppet do in his first month in office? CIA offers buyouts to all employees flip.it/4I-qEu

Rolling Stone reports that Trump, Musk and their allies have been pitching a number of ideas to stem the tide of leaks, including planting informants within departments who will snitch on their colleagues-- Sounds like the "political officers" from the SOVIET UNION

Perfectly captured.

After reading that Musk & Minions have seized the Soc. Sec. payment system. How the F#$% is this legal? How is there NO RECOURSE? Why is a "Department" with no enabling legislation and no enumerated powers suddenly taking over other departments with decades of establishing legislation? W...T...F?

Congress had "the power of the purse" i.e. all things financial. The power to declare war. Now Trump is putting the final touches of seizing Congress's enumerated powers. All could be stopped by Congress reasserting constitutional authority. Fat chance.

Before the 1970s the President needed to make a case to Congress if he wanted to impose tariffs. Ditto with the War Powers. So this evolving constitutional crisis is because Congress has been derelict in its duties to hold the President in check.

This Tariff BS is because Congress has been lazily shifting power to the President. Before the 1970's tariffs needed an act of Congress. In '74, he could impose a 15% tariff for 150 days. In 77 the Prez got power to impose tariffs without limit "in a national emergency". TRUMP "it's an emergency".

With what appears to be a partisan purge of main Justice, and the FBI, and Musk seizing the main portal of Treasury. Is there not any law which can stop this?

They would never make a silly mistake like that. They planned it all at the Four Seasons conference hosted by Giuliani.

If barista was only coffee cost, it would mean your large coffee just went up about $1. But the coffee itself is less than $1 of each cup, so going up maybe 15-20cents. But 25% increase of coffee at the grocery might translate pretty much to about a 10-15% retail increase. $1/lb?

I'd argue it's more like having to watch the neighborhood bully torture small animals.

Important plans for 2026: 1. Minimize damage to existing institutions. 2. 35 seats up for 2026, with 22 of them Republicans. 4 Flips win back the Senate. 3. Similar focus on House. 4. Absolute focus on Bread & Butter issues. 5. Develop a Dem Proj 26.

TAKE NOTE: The “nasty, radical leftist” Episcopal bishop who asked in her sermon this week that the Felon-In-Chief show mercy was the same one who found a permanent resting place for the remains of gay hate crime victim Matthew Shepard in her cathedral in 2018. www.npr.org/2018/10/26/6...

I love the people who claimed they couldn't afford eggs whining about the thousands of dollars they wasted on airfare and hotels to attend the cancelled outdoor inauguration.

The temperature at noon on Monday will be 22 degrees which is the same temperature it was in 1961 when Kennedy was inaugurated. The ceremony was held outside.

INTERESTING QUESTION: In the SCOTUS opinion that Colorado couldn't disqualify Trump because the provision was not "self-executing" and required enabling legislation. So, are those hyperpartisan Jurists going to say the 22nd amendment is not self-executing when Trump tries to run for a third?

The LAST time trump got an UNCONDITIONAL DISCHARGE, they fixed it with Penicillin.

Miy reason? Orange violently triggers my reflux.

Here we go might as well get it over with….

How much is that D.O.G.E. in the window? He hopes that our country's for sale.

When the original thing on this was "sex with a porn star", I find the sentence of UNCONDITIONAL DISCHARGE A LITTLE PREMATURE. Just sayin'. <smirk>

Wish "THE SENTENCE" had been house arrest till Inauguration.

So... free to go for the fraudster. I'm not a lawyer, but I got to wondering. If the standard jail sentence for falsifying business records was something like 2 years, why the judge couldn't have sentenced him to 2 years per count served simultaneously (68 yrs) -- and then suspend the sentence.

Only two men have been elected to the Presidency twice non-consecutively: Grover Cleveland and Donald Trump. GC had a reputation of never lying. DT has the reputation of never telling the truth. GC was a Democrat. DT a Republican. Interesting contrasts.
