The guy should have been voted "most punchable face" in high school. Nothing changed since.

Is that guy actual FBI, or Proud Boy cosplay? I don't see a badge or ID.

It goes to the 9th circuit. They'll certainly uphold. SCOTUS does not have to accept any case. This one is a stinker, so they'll probably refuse to take it up. Trump was clearly illegal.

Command of National Guard Bureau does "belong" to Trump/Hegseth, but that's only part of the story. State National Guards are under the command of the Governor and his/her Adjutant General unless called into federal duty. Limited ways to do that, which Trumpy just found out.

We have two possibilities here. They either didn't understand the question - double negatives are sooooo hard for some people to reason through, or they don't want the expense to burden their insider stock trading profits. They're either too stupid to breath or scum bags.

The California Adjutant General works for the Governor. If a court finds that Trump's attempt to seize control of the command was illegal, the AG will follow that order. Trump may have him removed from command, but he won't be able to deliver orders to him. End of the line for Trump.

Identifying Hegseth as a twit is a terrible insult to twits. The man is unstudied, unprepared, undisciplined, and mentally under-equipped for the task he's been handed. But, of course, that is as intended by the shrewd cheeto-colored puppeteer.

You guys blaming the Guard members deployed to LA are dead wrong. They should not be forced to suffer, which they would for not deploying when ordered, for the idiocy of the numbskulls who elected Donny the Tyrant. Blame them, blame Trump, blame Musk, but leave the working person out of it.

American patriots don't elect fascists to the commander in chief job. The Adjutant General of California can be removed by Governor Newsom. He's the one who followed Trump's order. The guys deployed did not receive an order from Trump. It came from their commanders (who got it from the AG).

California will have to sue for the federal funds. California didn't mobilize them and shouldn't have to pay.

The man is so inarticulate. His thinking process is mush. No precision. You have to squint so hard to squeeze a drop of sense out of him, the squeeze isn't worth the juice. How anyone can support this is beyond comprehension.

White Christian Nationalism, the force behind this, is nothing short of a death cult.

Let's start by removing ICE Barbie from her glamor job "leading" DHS. She's the bad puppy. Off to the pound.

The Adjutant General of California is the bad guy in their chain of command. He accepted Trump's illegal order and channeled it down his command. Blaming the little guy is like punching the checker at the store because the price is wrong in the computer. It isn't their fault!

This issue points out a weakness in the training delivered to soldiers and to the sniveling weakness of top officers, like the California Adjutant General, for following illegally generated orders. Trump had to go through the Governor to be legal; that didn't happen. Illegal order.

Have you been in the military?
Here's what they're told; "you cannot obey unlawful orders." At no point is "unlawful order" defined. They are also told that their chain of command has the lawful authority to issue orders to them. When they are ordered to do something, now, they are going to do it.

Sorry, but the answer is no until they figure out how to get Chuck Schumer out of leadership. New blood or no vote. It's not that friggin' hard!

Exactly right, and exactly why the Democratic Party is held in such low esteem right now. Gutless never works.

Lowlife bully cowards. There are shitty jobs, then there's ICE. How they can live with themselves I'll never understand. No morals, unscrupulous, disgusting excuses for human beings. Parents want their kids near. How to protect during such cruelty? Boiling over!

There is a federal investment manager called Thrift Savings Plan. TSP runs at very low overhead, meaning their fees are small. Make these accounts run through TSP, not Wall Street.
Totally agree with your take on the scam.

Slow yer roll there, Uncle. Veterans defend GIs. The boneheads at the top, not so much. In this case, the California Adjutant General deserves some strict scrutiny of his compliance with Trump's illegal order. Don't blame the poor schmucks doing what they're told.

Keep in mind that these guys could be sleeping in their beds but for the illegal deployment ordered by Trump. They're probably Title 10 members but will soon be backfilled by Title 32 - traditional weekend warriors. They really won't like this.

David, you should be ashamed of your participation in the degradation. Your soft shoe apologetics helped bring this shit to life. If you want to clean your soul, you need to be a little introspective. OK, a lot more.

I can see what ABC is trying to do - claim anti-bias. And yet, Fox News has idiots like Gutfeld and Waters that spew anti-factual bias for their paycheck. ABC, shame on you. You can't go wrong with free speech. Don't comply in advance.

Every soldier knows they should not obey illegal orders, but not one knows what that is. There is zero training. 23 year vet, recent retiree.

Take a bleed kit, even if you don't know how to use it. Take bottled water. Wear a mask. Wear full length clothing and boots. Wear a helmet. Wear knee pads. Write blood type on outer clothing. Try to de-escalate, but know your rights.

Their flag looks a lot like the 3%er logo. These nuts are practicing their military tactics while ICE is arresting busboys, cooks, and garment workers. Here's an idea - focus on the Nazis. They don't mean well and don't work for a living.

I don't trust Republicans half as far as I could throw the lot of them. That said, what exactly is the problem with this legislation. I read through it and the problem doesn't leap out. Does it have to do with producing birth certs to register in states? Are there ways to mitigate the problems?

I'm a '58 kid too. Protesting all the time in redneck CA. We get coal smoked by the Trumpinistas here. We had our biggest protest of all time yesterday. Earth Day should be huge. Glad you're out fighting the fight.
