So basically our core biomedical agenda has gone from cancer and heart disease research with major investments in alzheimers/dementia research to jacking up the sperm count of teenage males and a new wild goose for the 'hidden causes' of Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Kids as young as 4 left to defend themselves in immigration court. 4 year old kids. Representing themselves. In court. Most adults couldn't represent themselves in court. How is a child expected to? #SheShed #Voices4Victory #MomSky

Check out how the anchors of CBS Evening News ended their broadcast tonight:

NEW: THREAD: The VA is now asking employees to snitch on each other for "instances of anti-christian bias." You'll be rewarded with 30 pieces of silver (kidding). This is from an email from Doug Collins (I won't post screenshots in case there are irregularities used to identify leakers.) 1/

“I think Jesus has been the subject of identity theft.” -Senator Raphael Warnock, speaking about those on the right who don’t practice what they preach.

BREAKING: we won! A federal judge has enjoined the administration's shut down of Voice of America Another success for the Constitution and for us @sddaction.bsky.social & our many wonderful partners & clients More details to follow--stay tuned!

“I’ve never missed a court appearance. I’ve never missed an appointment with immigration or ICE,” Daboin Rall said. “The truth is: I don’t have any criminal record. I’ve done everything correctly according to the rules of this country.” www.nbcnews.com/politics/imm...

I filmed this yesterday on my way to Lousiana where my constituent Rümeysa Öztürk is being wrongfully held by ICE. I’m there now demanding her release. More to come.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social: "The United States government quite literally disappeared these people. It won't say where they are. We don't know. Their families do not know where they are. And they have essentially no recourse in U.S. courts because there are no records of their whereabouts."

"Art of the Deal" by Donald Trump

It’s one insane thing after another with RFK Jr….now it comes out that HHS planning to cut the National Suicide Hotline’s program for LGBTQ youth that gets 2,100 contacts per day….cruelty is the point with this heartless bastard www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

“i’ve always been an ignorant piece of shit my entire life guys”

This eugenics-language focused registry of entire groups with disabilities is terrifying.

Democratic Rep. Yassamin Ansari calmly attempts to advocate for due process and the rule of law as Fox’s Laura Ingraham screeches herself into a frenzy over the Kilmar Abrego García case. Rep. Ansari: “We are turning into an authoritarian country, and there are Americans from all across the…

Folks need to pause and put themselves in García’s shoes. He fled El Salvador at 16—running from gangs, scared for his life. He didn’t risk it all just to join one of the most notorious gangs here. Bukele cracked down—but as one local said: “We used to fear the gangs—now we fear the government.”

Marriott’s CEO said it straight: “We welcome all… we create opportunities for all… that’s who we are as a company.” He went back to his hotel to find 40K emails from Marriott associates worldwide saying “thank you.” Plenty of CEOs talk. Capuano showed up. Marriott still has my business.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate. The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns. Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care. The list goes on and on. Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

Alito is sermonizing about how religious parents basically should be allowed to run (read destroy) public schools. This is religious supremacy not free exercise.

A colleague at Stanford’s business school used The Stanford Daily to argue—poorly—against DEI. The piece was riddled with historical errors and left one searching for fact, so I broke my public writing hiatus to respond. I hope you’ll read and share the piece. stanforddaily.com/2025/04/22/w...

this is basically just a big plan to impoverish the united states

Mountains of shame on Shari Redstone and everyone else involved here trying to settle such a ridiculous and baseless legal action. They’re so poor, all they have is money and they will eventually pay the price for their grotesque behavior.

Turns out that immigration isn't Trump's issue armor after all, and maybe Democrats could drag him even further down by fighting against his outrageous and unconstitutional deportations rather than treating them as "a distraction."

Journalists @thehill.com learned that one of their own was fired to appease Trump and stop a lawsuit. Nexstar, which owns The Hill, is gutting nonpartisan reporting, planning to lay off 30% of the newsroom, and caving to political pressure. We stand with The Hill Guild. Read their statement below:

When I left the Washington Post in 2023, my colleagues and I were worried AI would hoover up our work and enable "zombies" to churn out stories based on our reporting and writing styles. Today WaPo announced a partnership with OpenAI. And here it is: Zombie Gillian Brockell. I DID NOT WRITE THIS.

🔥 @ninajankowicz.com to the European Parliament: "Before I describe the details of Russia's recent online influence campaigns, I would like to call upon you to stand firm against another autocracy: The United States of America."

"Human rights are not only violated by terrorism, repression or assassination, but also by unfair economic structures that create huge inequalities." - Pope Francis

He’s weakening our country. He’s weakening our economy. He’s weakening our alliances. He’s weakening the free world. He’s weakening our influence around the world. And Putin keeps smiling every single day.

Let me explain how I can be both optimistic the rest of the world will avoid a global recession, but pessimistic about the United States. Betting markets reckon it's more likely than not that the U.S. will slip into recession this year.

An errant, insane Trump thought may emerge in the form of a single tweet—rattling the news cycle and then vanishing without a trace—but if that idea reemerges on multiple occasions, it quickly threatens to jump into official administration policy.

"Tourists from all over came to the square as well. Many were reciting the Rosary—in Italian, French, Spanish, English, and some languages I couldn’t identify." In Vatican City, without a Pope. The latest Press Pass from @cheetah.bsky.social: www.thebulwark.com/p/public-gri...

Q: "When you were a Navy pilot, what would have happened to you if you had shared a battle plan with a family member?" Sen. Mark Kelly: "I would have gotten fired. I would probably have been prosecuted...This is the most sensative information we have."

I feel like we need to keep saying this because it’s so insane: This is a legal U.S. resident who has been detained for over a month now for his political opinions.

I’m old enough to remember when conservatives got mad because they thought women were having babies to get cash

Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs chair Sen. Ron Johnson says that 9/11 was a "controlled demolition" and there has been a "cover up" of massive amounts of evidence, many "questions" need to be answered:

This is, I think, the single greatest problem with the media's coverage of the last nine years of US politics. Democrats are broadly assumed to be the adults in the room, and as a result, Democrats and Republicans are held to *wildly* different standards of behavior by the media.
