End of analysis 🧵
There's so much more to talk about here and other things I can go into but I'll leave it there, otherwise I'd ramble on forever about every little thing.

He wholeheartedly trusts his captain and knows the seriousness of their relationship and in extension the bonds they share as nakama/with the crew.

Zoro chose him as his captain and in doing so gave himself up for Luffy's dream. And he wouldn't expect anything less for someone he's willing to commit his life to (literally).

There's also another moment at the end I want to briefly mention where we see everyone's reactions to Luffy's words and Zoro looks like he expects this level of commitment and dedication coming from Luffy. The expectation is there because it's Luffy.

I find this short but significant moment very telling of Zoro and think this is beautifully articulated considering how minor of a moment this can be on a surface level.

It reflects nicely on Zoro's character and what he stands for. His honesty & honourability as well as his morals, beliefs and what essentially rile him up. In this case it's not so extreme but it was definetly enough for him to step in when Sanji was already doing so prior and after Zoro stepped in.

Sanji stepping in AFTER Zoro has.

Another example of Sanji stepping in BEFORE Zoro.

At a glance this might not be something so significant but there are multiple instances before Zoro chooses to step in and even after where Sanji (the designated "keep Ussop at bay" man) steps in and keeps Ussop under control.

This moment Ussop calls out the unfairness of the fight, using Foxy's devil fruit as the reason. Yes this plays in well with Ussop's character as a liar but we know that Foxy using his devil fruit isn't unfair. And what I find particularly interesting is that Zoro chose to step in.

He's a man of honour and isn't one to play dirty even if it means the enemy is. But I wont dive further into that since that's not what this analysis is about.

Albeit the previous Davy Back challenges weren't all that fair, specifically the renowned fight where Zoro & Sanji had to settle their differences and work together. We witness the opposition use weapons when that was strictly prohibited in the challenge, but Zoro still followed the rules.

I want to start off by firstly saying how Zoro's an honest person which ties in to how he holds promises with upmost importance. And the fight between Luffy and Foxy had rules.

I love how scandalised and annoyed Sanji looks here. You've done a great job making his expression look priceless. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

And realising that my lover may not //feel// the same way that I experience my emotions is scary and devastating.

And there it is, that's all I have for now. Not quite sure how I want the rest of the scene to unfold but I'm excited to get started on publishing this fanfic!

He liked his scent.
And he understood then what he'd done. Zoro who desperately tried to escape Sanji's eyes, instantly caught them with his own. Sanji watched the subtle way he scrunched his nose and in a panic let go of Zoro's hand.
Unfortunately for him, Zoro didnt let him escape, "Hey let go-"

an obviously clear crimson covered his face, tinting even his ears. This wasn’t something that could escape Sanji's line of sight, no matter how much Zoro caved away from him. It was an undeniably rare expression. The way he ended up nuzzling so comfortably into Sanji's scarf. His heart throbbed.

pretending not to notice the spike of elated pheromones coming from him. But when he did look over, regrettably so, he found himself short-circuit.
Sanji had no way of misinterpreting this. Even if Zoro's eyes were averted, a weak attempt, to deescalate and minimise the situation,

It definitely wasn't because his heart skipped a beat from the way Zoro would occasionally squeeze his hand or rub his thumb over his knuckles.
The small gestures made him feel... giddy. He smiled to himself as he tightened his hold on Zoro's hand,

"If you put it around your neck they won't. But there's no need," The, //I'll keep them warm//, was left unsaid. But Sanji already knew what Zoro insinuated.
They didn't speak of how their hands remained intertwined. It was better for Sanji this way - he wouldn't lose track of the marimo.

He was distracted, immersed by the alpha's actions. Zoro's hands were plenty warm, enough to keep him from going numb, so he flushed at how devoted Zoro'd been to exhale on his hands. It made him uneasy - this turmoil that stirred in his head, left him with a, confusing, flutter in his gut.

Sanji watched him intently, never once withdrawing his hands. Zoro exhaled, his breath emitting heat in the compressed space he created with their hands, "I think you need the scarf more than I do."
"Idiot... the scarf won't warm my hands." The profanity fell weak on his lips.

It made Zoro feel reckless for what he was about to do.
Without thinking, he grabbed onto Sanji's hands, noticing how cold they were. He cupped them in his hands, managing to engulf them with quite some ease and pulled them towards him, "You're cold."

It felt intimate how he adjusted his volume to a hushed whisper as if they were having a private moment.
Sanji finally met his eyes, hands still on the scarf wrapped around Zoro. They had no reason to but Sanji still kept his hands there. Like an excuse.

"I can't have you making precious Nami-san sick all because you don't want to take care of yourself." Zoro noted how Sanji's voice dropped by a few notes. His, what was meant to be a harsh delivery, melted from the warmth and concern laced in his voice.

Just for this moment. At least till Sanji's attention wasn't on securing his own scarf around Zoro in a state that'd please the omega.

"Mossy germs, what the fuck-" Sanji's scarf settled around his neck. He was tugged in closer by the scarf - Zoro stopped breathing.
From this close Zoro could appreciate how long the cook's lashes were. He shamelessly stared at him, unguarded - he could indulge in this.

Sanji sighed, dissapiating the weighty silence like the condensation leaving his mouth, "Fine whatever," He shuffled about, unwrapping the scarf around him - "But I can't have you getting sick and spreading your mossy germs to the ladies."

He didn't answer him, but regardless, he couldn't dissuade Zoro from his stubborn pursuits. His resolve was admirable. Even if his methods are peculiar. The two stood there momentarily as if daring the other to say something.

"That's not- Why don't you have a coat, aren't you freezing?"
Oh, he was worried.
Zoro didn't delve too deep in what that could mean, ignoring the sudden warmth creeping up within, "Our minds are only inclined to believe what we want." Sanji stared at him.

Zoro looked dumbfounded by the question, his answer only proving that he had no clue what the cook was looking for, "My uniform," He scoffed, knowing it wasn't the answer Sanji wanted, especially with how he immediately scoffed back at him.

He charged at Zoro who instantly caught Sanji from the ferocity that seeped from him.
"Hey curl-" His expectant expression dropped from the irked look on the cook's face.
"What the fuck are you wearing?"

Sanji should've expected this. He frowned at the blurry green patch of moss in the distance - it stuck out painfully so with how snow-white their surroundings had become. His frown deepened. The mosshead looked lost. Ofcourse he did. But that hadn't been the reason why his mood plummeted.

Is he going to ask Zoro he doesn't want this, in turn asking him to sacrifice himself for Sanji. Which Zoro would do in a heartbeat because, again, he knows there's no chance that Sanji could possibly like him back.
comment in response to

Would Sanji want to rid himself of the mark by denying how he truly feels for the swordsman. Is he going to distance himself from Zoro, making them both feel really shitty and putting an excruciatingly painful burden on their bond.
comment in response to

Or maybe he'll feel a sense of guilt for marking the cook when he knows there's no way he'd like him back. When that's just not true because the mark happened due to a shared feeling of love. But in Zoro's eyes, there's no way the cook would like him back.

Zoro coming to the realisation of what he's done and how he'll react to that. Will he feel a sense of reinforced understanding behind his feelings towards Sanji, is he going to act more possessive and clingy?

It's what I love about Zosan so much, their unspeakable bond and you've captured that perfectly here. It'll also make it that much more delightful to see what'll unfold next.

I love the SLOWBURN, just teasing the audience with how these two idiots are dancing around each other when they've already, on a deeper and instinctual level, accepted each other.

Wanted to say how I'm going absolutely feral over this; everything about this is perfect - it's so well written (I'm kinda tempted to write a little something myself).
