Out for a stroll round my manor. Just passed a street sweeper with his big wheeled cart. He had a radio blasting from the top. Alarmingly, as I walked past, there was a vivid description of the dietary habits of the piranha fish being very publicly broadcast. Interesting but loudly gruesome.

Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light once again delights and bruises. How did Mantel make us care for this man? He was a brute. But then he lived in bloody and brutish times. I also enjoyed this description of the king's bedroom credentials: "...it was like being slobbered over by a mastiff pup."
