For fun, I tried go back and code a little bit in Visual Code editor after having coded in Windsurf for so long, and my goodness I really felt like I was going .5x slower than usual πŸ˜… It felt like I was Rock Lee putting back on my weights🀣 #AI #buildinpublic

While I did fix it by adding the reloadDocument attribute to the Link component, a part of me wonders if this is a sign of a bigger issue present in my current application version that I should take a look at, or if I should just keep moving forward 🧐

I also want to start considering integrating AI into this app, and what AI I want to integrate. I'm potentially thinking of an agent too. I want to get into AI agents and learn more about them, and discover what it's like to integrate them into code. #AI #buildinpublic

I also want to add a way for users to control the quantity of menu items they want to order in the menu page as well as the cart page. But I'm happy with my progress today, it's been super helpful to document a detailed project plan so I can stay focused with a clear direction.

Didn't get a chance to work on the nav bar as I had hoped last week, but I did manage to implement notifications. But I definitely want to get the nav bar into the app tomorrow, and also update how adding an menu item currently works for duplicate menu ordered items.

Next I plan on building the logic for blocking the user from marking the ticket as completed until all the menu items in the ticket are marked as completed, as well as the backend for the kitchen system management. I also didn't get to it, but I want to implement a nav bar tooπŸ’ͺ

Building out the Kitchen card components was fun, laying out all the elements so they were aligned and seeing my code in action is always so cool to see 🀩 I used mock data to ensure the logic worked without an additional variable like my backend or DB.

I have been maintaining my approach where I implement all my static text into a labels dictionary, and while I haven't quite gotten myself to automatically go to the folder everytime I need to add static text, I have become more familiar with it being in my overall workflow.

It's been an interesting journey so far rebuilding this application by myself again, as I have been so used to following a certain system like Agile methodologies and communicating with others in a team before making any changes and having a team leader lead the way.

With the cart functionality being completed, I want to start working on the kitchen and adding the cart items as a kitchen ticket, which would remove said items from the cart itself. I also want to start considering the apps navigation bar if I have time :) #buildinpublic

To make sure the hide instructions wasn’t showing when the user adds instructions, I used local state as a check to supplement the logic. This was to check for users that may may click on the hide instructions while text was still in the textarea, which would remove that text.

I also removed the initial loading logic as there was no need for it with the local state quickly updating the UI value. Using this logic, I also implemented dynamic updates to the additional instructions not for UI purposes, but instead for the add instructions.

πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™ Appreciate that!! Ah gotcha, that's understandable!! Gotta ease your way back into the software engineering grind ~.~

Aw, thank you Chris!!!! πŸ₯Ή I'm glad to hear you're feeling inspired~ And sometimes you need to take a pause for yourself, but I'm glad to see back!!! πŸ”₯
