Incredible response from @mrjamesob.bsky.social to Nigel Farage taking calls on LBC this morning. Fifty seconds of perfection.

Telegraph article: "The OBR found that the average migrant worker pays more in tax than they receive in public services throughout their lives compared to British-born workers." The headline:

Trivial post - lifted duvet last night to get into bed and a “monstrous” spider 🕷️ crawled across the duvet. Took me ages to get to sleep….!

A reminder if you use libraries (bc sometimes ppl are apologetic to authors about it) - don't be! We get paid! I get almost as much per borrow as I do per sale! And I LOVE libraries, they were a lifeline when the kids were little in particular.

The tories shouting & screaming that the £22B black hole doesn’t exist. It’s all lies according to them. Well here is the evidence in the letter from the office for budget responsibility, from their review back in March! #NeverVoteTory #ToryLiars

Starmer to end £40m helicopter contract in break from Sunak era. Starmer and his defence secretary, John Healey, have decided not to renew a contract for helicopter transport which is due to expire at the end of the year after it was extended in 2023 at Sunak’s personal insistence.

If the minimum wage is £22,308 a yr, why does the govt expect a pensioner to live on £11,531? You can judge country on how it treats it's elderly. Elderly are struggling to eat & 25% live in poverty. #CostOfLivingCrisis #GTTO #ToriesOut theconversation.com/matching-sta...

Given everything I have learned about ice cream van men since coming into this job, all I can say is: yes to this

HMRC scam

o2 mobile contract needs renewing. Spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone. Offer of 4 different tariffs before the advisor listened to what I was saying and magically found a tariff that offered more GB, unlimited texts and calls for 1/2 the cost of what I’m currently paying!

Very tired today of reading news reports detailing the names, roles and history of the men lost in the yacht accident only to add ‘and their wives and a daughter’ as if an afterthought.

President Obama: "Our politics has become so polarised these days that all of us, across the political spectrum, seem so quick to assume the worst in others unless they agree with us on every single issue. We start thinking that the only way to win is to scold and shame."

If you decide to follow me, please don’t automatically DM me, this is not a dating app.

Just read my first “nasty” response and it was to @jessphillipsmp.bsky.social. Being an MP does not give anyone the right to automatically be horrid. You can disagree with policies etc and still be courteous

Nothing says “patriot” like declaring you’re a non-resident to try to escape a large tax bill: www.thetimes.com/uk/social-me...

Hmm, perhaps I should be on Threads then ….!

“Several posts on Facebook claim that mpox (the disease caused by the monkeypox virus) is actually a side effect of the Covid-19 vaccines. This is not true.” Can’t believe we even need these fact checking articles. It’s a sad reflection of where we are. https://fullfact.org/health/mpox-covid-vaccin…

@adamcreme.bsky.social I’m sure you’re aware but just in case, see below re Nigella
