I guess that Russia still has a university sector pumping out engineers.

It isn’t a post about Israel and Iran.
It is a post about a fantasy Trump.

Russia had no reason to intervene when Israel attacked Iran.
Russia wants to sell tech to Iran, but really doesn’t want them to have the bomb.
If Russia got a concession from Trump for not intervening, then Trump was duped into giving a concession for nothing. (Trump would be that dumb)

Civilians always warrant human rights.
Protection from occupiers ideally shouldn’t even be a concern, but sadly no army is perfect. Some are less perfect than others.

I would look to PressTV for the official line Iranian line…
I expect that Russia is keen to paint Israel and wider West as responsible for any ongoing conflict, keeping alive Iran’s nuclear ambition whilst simultaneously denying Iran the ability to complete it.

I think the term “they” can be problematic.
I am not a fan of Netanyahu and his immediate cabal, but it was the Iranian backed Hamas that broke a ceasefire and gave an opportunity for Netanyahu to benefit from the violence.

Funny but not really answering the questions raised by your dubious assertions.
I won’t be drawn into bothering into dealing further with your polite but clearly biased commentary.

Yes, the Ukrainian lesson is clear, but Ukraine and Iran are very different countries.
I expect that Iran’s neighbours are quietly pleased. Western left wing democracies call for de-escalation, but stop short of condemning Israel.

Israeli targeting seems consistent with attacking the nuclear weapons program.
Like you, I am sceptical that such late military action can stop the Iranian bomb - but what do I know? 🤷♂️ Maybe only in a political rather than physical sense?

I haven’t seen any reports of any Iranian civilian casualties last night, but the Iranians did manage to kill a Palestinian family in Israel

Nothing was getting better, Iran was in breach of obligations and reportedly weeks away from getting the bomb.

I am not sure if any such recent abuse would be because of Netanyahu as you seem to suggest, or radicalisation due to Hamas atrocities.
Did the British murder Afghan villagers because of Cameron and Clegg?

I wouldn’t entirely dismiss the report you link to, even if it is largely weak & seemingly references Albanese’s report.
(You previously asked about Russia, FWIW they would have done worse)

Only Tankies support Iran, and they aren’t supporters of Ukraine or democracy ñ,

I saw Francesca Albanese’s comments regarding the recent Thunberg stunt - they were unimpressive, to say the least.
I don’t know why you would choose the BBC, given their reputation. (Are the British still smarting about the King David Hotel?)

That is disturbing reading, but I wouldn’t trust anything that involves Francesca Albanese…

Bakhmut was levelled in advance of the army, civilians had already left. Very few want to be in town when the Russians arrive.
Like Stalin before him, Putin will take civilians, rape, imprison, torture them, strip them of their ethnic identity and disburse them around the empire.
comment in response to

Thanks.
The article refers to the destruction of buildings & compares it to Bakhmut, it doesn’t compare it to Irpin, Bucha, Mariupol or the Kherson safari. There is a difference.
Netanyahu stands accused of war crimes (which look to be extending to ethnic cleansing). Putin is accused of Genocide.

I can’t read behind the Hafeez paywall.
I see no reason to believe that Israeli and Russian armies are to any large degree similar.
What is notable is the debate in Israel about whether crimes are being committed, something that you won’t see in Russia.

I didn’t realise that you were referring to the picture. Yes, ruined buildings do look the same.

No reputable sources are publishing any such videos.

No, Israel is not holding any hostages, that is disinformation.
Unlike with Russia, the ICC have not suggested that there is any case of genocide to answer. Such a suggestion is a libel.
comment in response to

Israel deny targeting civilians. The claim that the war with Hamas is over is patently false, Hamas are still holding civilian hostages.

The “Reputation laundering”would probably be more important.
If it becomes part of a “Deal” it becomes part of what Trump would use to present himself as a successful deal maker, and Russia would use to present themselves as a contributor to Middle East peace.

Indiscriminately bombing civilian areas has always been a bad thing, that has always been recognised by Israel and other civilised peoples.
comment in response to

Nothing to see here, just Putin seeking to profit by fooling the cretin that the US people chose as President.
Putin publicly offered to downprocess Iranian nuclear material from weapons into fuel grade.
(Russia would directly profit financially and launder their reputation)

Unfortunately you don’t know what the definition of “racism” is.
In any event, whether you regard yourself as “racist”, “antisemitic” or simply “bigoted” is unimportant.

I like your spirit, even if your grip on reality leaves much to be desired.
However bad things were in the past in Southern US states, and however bad MAGA are now, the US has always been better than the USSR.

The Germans should know who was responsible for beating them, they say it was America.
Nobody under Stalin was free.

Admittedly, more Soviets than any other people died, but then again, Stalin killed more Soviets than he did Germans. Stalin cared as little about Soviet lives as Putin does about Russian lives.
