I tell students to say square centimetres.
If they say centimetres squared I tell them they're wrong, and make them do it right.
Rest of dept laugh at me, but I'm not happy doing it wrong.

Fortunately we managed to get it to stop before it actually emptied, and a new cylinder is being fitted tomorrow (although no hot water apart from the kettle since Sunday evening!)

These books are AMAZING - I read the first one on a whim from the library and was blown away by how good and how fun. Have since listened to the rest on audiobook. 10/10 would recommend!!
