Sen. Alex Padilla was on our show recently and he couldn’t have been a nicer man. He’s a true patriot and an incredible Senator for Calif. The way he was treated is absolutely disgusting. Hey Kristi Noem, why can’t you answer a simple question from an elected official? Never mind, FUCK YOU!

“What Senator Alex Padilla did today was political theater.” --Kristi Noem, the Head of Costuming, Hair, and Makeup at Political Theater

It’s true, as many have suggested, that if they can do this to Sen. Padilla, they can do it to others. I’d only add that they already have been doing this to others. A mass deportation regime, sooner rather than later, becomes contemptuous of civil liberties and basic decency.

What happened to @padilla.senate.gov in California today is outrageous. Senator Padilla is a respected leader of great dignity and he has every right to ask a question of Secretary Noem without being slammed down and handcuffed.

Tragically, the outrageous assault of Sen. Padilla today is becoming normal behavior for a Trump administration which is moving us toward authoritarianism. The American people do not like petty tyrants. We defeated King George in 1776. We will defeat King Donald.

Senators are ELECTED to be a VOICE for their constituents. What happens when that voice is stifled, thrown to the ground, and handcuffed like Senator Padilla was? We have a democracy, but we can lose that democracy. I took to the Senate floor to speak out—I hope you'll join me.

Kristi Noem calling Padilla's interruption a bit of political theater is obviously a bit rich but she's not wrong: It was meant to show that the administration was fascistic, unserious, and contemptuous of local leaders. Guess what happened!

If the Padilla thing is normal in your America, you done lost the plot. Shame on you.

In Donald Trump's America, if you say "I am Senator Alex Padilla, I have questions for the Secretary," you get thrown to the floor and handcuffed.

What happened to Senator Padilla is absolutely DISGUSTING. Point blank, period. This shit is out of control. Another elected official disrespected while doing their job. (1/2)

House Democrats need to bring articles of impeachment against Kristi Noem, while Senate Democrats need to bring that chamber to a fucking halt.

I live here lol

OMG OMG OMG

I saw Spaceballs several times before I ever saw Star Wars, and I think that explains my personality a lot.

Someone said what’s happening right now in LA isn’t immigration policy—it’s regime prep Wheeeeewwwww

Such. A fucking. Moron.

And still… there are people who voted for this who are going to sleep with a smile on their faces pleased as pie.. It’s a wild world y’all

My favorite line here is "applying for those jobs"

I told you we’d be back

1. Yes 2. Will never happen but at some point let *everyone* in for free if you can't sell your tickets 3. Not my thing but sure 4. Yes 5. OMG YES 6. OMFG PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY YES

Donald Trump handing “get-out-of-jail-free” cards to the January 6th mob while deploying Marines to LA and threatening anyone who protests his ego parade isn’t law and order or leadership - it’s authoritarianism. Call it what it is.

Odd, how MS-13 gang members are all ALL OVER California during elections, but conspicuously absent when ICE is rounding up "criminals" in that state. Instead, ICE goes to Home Depot to arrest helpful people looking for home improvement jobs. It's *almost* as if everything Trump tells us is a lie.

Brody King shared a post about what is happening in LA right now on Instagram. #AEW 🤼

LAPD: THEY PUT FLOWERS AT THE FEET OF THE GUARD! FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!

on the plus side think of how many overdue child support payments are getting caught up on with these ICE agents getting OT

This is actually a perfect joke

Take the Power Back

What's most wild to me is that there's absolutely no scope of most people's fear. The most dangerous metro areas to live in in the US, in order, are Memphis TN, Monroe LA, Anchorage AK, Pine Bluff AR, Danville IL, and Albany GA. And also, Memphis is lovely.

The attacks on the civilian population of LA are becoming more violent and more overtly authoritarian, and brutal. These are the tactics of a paramilitary terror force nothing else. These are rightwing death squads in the making. America is under attack by fascist governmental forces

ICE is abducting US citizens out in the open to provoke a response. They're doing this on purpose to escalate and then play the victim when people protest.

Howard Nutlick on the other hand... That's evergreen.

(🧵) Friendly reminder that if you’re overwhelmed right now and feel like there’s nothing you can do, you’re wrong! Not everything requires drone footage or the national news. Real change starts at the local level and it’s powerful. (1/23) Here’s a thread of things you CAN do.

One not-so-secret aspect of the attempt to occupy Los Angeles and other "blue" American cities? Not enough manpower to do the job. Trump and Miller are counting on your fear and obedience to do the work for them. Troops and total police officers? Not nearly enough. So speak out and march peacefully.

If Trump thinks LA was "riots", I hate to see what he says after ICE pisses Philly off.

The Los Angeles deployment for 60 days . Democrats need to set up a lecture in front of them and give speeches all day and throw in some dance parties and a few streakers to change the news cycle for the right wing .

We feed you. They hunt us.

Hear me out: ICE being in LA is what caused the protests If ICE didn’t kidnap random people from Home Depots, then none of this would’ve happened. 🤷🏻‍♂️

My Instagram feed is usually just hip-hop, basketball, and stand-up comedy. Now it’s wall-to-wall “fuck ICE.” Picking a fight with a city full of people with massive online and offline influence is so hilariously stupid.

When white ranchers occupied a federal building in Oregon, the feds waited them out for 41 days and then gave them a press conference. When immigrant families protest deportation raids in Los Angeles, the President calls it an “occupation” and floats the Insurrection Act.

As I’ve mentioned before, Gavin Newsom once tried to pick up my wife, and he’s basically Bill Paxton’s character in True Lies crossed with a beta version of Grok. That’s why it pains me so much to report that he’s been absolutely perfect the past 24 hours or so. Carry on, awful governor.

Gavin Newsom just gave a strong speech laying out the stakes for democracy in blunt language that too few powerful Democrats have been willing to use. I know the huge problems with him. But at this awful moment, playing the "Sorry, he's dead to me" game with Democrats seems an unaffordable luxury.

Here's an interesting statistic about the situation in LA. As of now 42 protesters have been arrested. The last time the LA Lakers won the NBA title in Los Angeles, 78 people were arrested. and they needed the National Guard and the Marines?!?

Making Gavin Newson and Karen Bass look like they have a spine is one of Trump’s greatest feats to date. Perhaps second only to making Harvard seem as if it has ethical principles.

Nice of @thisisindecline to do some marketing for ICE in the Bay Area Original post: www.instagram.com/reel/DKuf9f6...

ABC News has cut ties with its senior national correspondent Terry Moran after he posted that Stephen Miller is a “world-class hater” who “eats his hate.” Kudos to Moran for having the courage to speak the truth — and screw ABC News for not standing behind him and backing his right to free speech.
