New specs. “You’re only supposed to blow the bloody doors off!”

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice #letterboxd #review

Cheers Chris. It was the 100th performance of the show this afternoon. Just three more weeks to go, then we’re off to Dublin across February. #DrStrangeloveOnStage

Saw @aiannucci.bsky.social’s Dr Stangelove tonight. To say it is genius is an understatement. Performances are obviously incredible but the staging, the direction, the adaption is something else. Chef’s kiss is a cliche, but fucking hell it’s the best thing I’ve seen on stage for years.

Here’s your yearly gratuitous pie shots. Cutting numbers out of pastry is harder than you think!

Just the 102 new (to me) films watched this year. 53 #1001FilmsBefore50 list films (green) and 49 others. I thought I was way behind schedule on the list (and I am) but 11 films a month still has me completing it before my 50th birthday in June 2028!

We’ve just strung about 11 passes together in a row. I’ve done a Mexican wave in the front room.

A quick one to fit in before I go back to work next week (and in between chapters of Obama’s autobiography). Now, I am a bit of a snob and hate books with front covers from the TV/film adaptation but it’s all Waterstones had!

Wicked - Part 1 #letterboxd #review

Finally watching Wicked and utilising my 2 free cinema tickets. Even in the reclining seats my feet are still in the way of people.

I’m nothing if not an old fashioned kind of guy. Give me an hour and I won’t care what day it is! Merry Fucking Whatever!! X

I’ve reached the ‘What Bloody Day Is It?’ section of the Christmas holidays.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl #letterboxd #review

I’m way behind schedule. I haven’t watched a #1001FilmsBefore50 list film since August! It’s time to get back on the horse and as it’s Christmas what better way to do it than with a classic ghost story! This is on iPlayer. No. 560: The Haunting #letterboxd #review

Loads of other people are doing it so … The violent jump: 2019 to 2024!

Won the Christmas Quiz at work today. Imagine my disappointment when my esteemed teammates Claire and Sarah didn’t want the booze. It’s OK, bloody muggins will drink it! Happy Mad (Bastard) Friday!

If it wasn’t for a trip to the barbers I’d be pissed already! Happy Mad (Bastard) Friday, everyone!

I’ve got my book, a glass of wine, and the darts on. Tonight, I’m determined to spend more than 3 hours conscious in my own home after work. Cheers.

You might remember that I was in a play August/September. I posted about it once or twice. You might even have come to see it. Well, me and Cathy have been nominated for NODA Awards. For being proper bloody good, and that. That’s all. That’s the post.

The Peepshow didn’t take me as long to read as anticipated! So, I can start on the Christmas holiday book a bit earlier. Not my usual genre (although I did have a bit of a biography phase about 20 years ago!)

Really enjoyed James Ellroy’s ‘Perfidia’. I’m a little relieved that it turned out to be good! Probably shouldn’t have waited over 10 years to read it! I’ve got my Christmas holidays book picked out already, which gives me just enough time to read this first.

Glanced up to see that Paul Merson is wearing a T-shirt, cardigan, suit jacket combo and has completely fucking stolen my ‘look’!

First three done. Needn’t have worried. Very good. #crumpets

Kitchen Garden Update! Two new tomato plants have gone in. The pea plant has five pods slowly fattening. Some of the rosemary will be going on the roast chicken and vegetables later today. The peppers, chillis and coriander will be put to use in a curry in the week.

This is all the Bodø/Glimt fans walking to Old Trafford as viewed, by me, from Deansgate train station. They sounded more impressive than they look.

Easily the best ramen I’ve ever made.
