"My name is Greta Thunberg and I am from Sweden. If you see this video, we have been intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel."

The Freedom Flotilla is moments away from being intercepted by the Israeli military and I’ve barely seen any coverage from the UK press. Al Jazeera is providing live updates here: www.aljazeera.com/amp/news/liv...

is being terminally online bad for you? yes does it make you less happy than your offline friends? absolutely is there anything that matches the high of a poster's ragnarok? there is not, and that's why we can never log off

If you’re in Baltimore next Saturday, come and say hello!! The tickets are free and there’ll be a bunch of local devs showing games IN A COOL LIBRARY.

BREAKING: We have reached a historic first tentative contract agreement with Microsoft! cwa-union.org/news/release...

I don't understand how these videos can exist and yet the horror is allowed to continue. How is this not enough? What else could anybody possibly need to see to make this stop? The BBC are reporting that the girl in this video survived, although both her mother and sister died in the attack.

For years, I hoped NPR, NYTimes, or the ghost of Gimlet would make a video game podcast. A weekly, hour-long audio magazine with essays, interviews, tight editing, and a cheeky sense of humor. Nobody made the show I wanted to hear. So, I made it myself. Here's the first episode of Post Games.

The RAF has aided the IDF by flying more surveillance flights over Gaza than either the US or Israel. Our factories (including one in my city) are vital parts of the supply chain for the F-35 jets used to bomb Palestinians. The UK is not some distant ally, but a direct participant in this genocide

anyway here's the email I sent to jim bankoff last week. i'm still heartbroken. I have been insanely, destructively angry for weeks, and I think I will be for a long time.

All @alyssamerc.bsky.social did was write an article about the brutal harassment happening to me and my colleagues. Many of us were driven off social media altogether because of the abuse she outlines in this video. Neither the games industry nor any of the platforms have done anything to stop it.

I’ll be chatting with @itsquinns.bsky.social at Games Transformed in July, if you are in London come along!

I will be running a workshop on how to build DIY protest games and delivering a speech on the critical need to address play inequality by engaging new audiences. Really looking forward to finally getting along to this event!

I'm thrilled to be helping out with the GAMES TRANSFORMED festival this year. Tickets are on sale now and they'll go fast. It'll include a special LIVE gameshow edition of Billionaires and Guillotines!

Very excited to be a part of this in July!! And thanks to @gamestransformed.bsky.social for letting me open their promo video with those two words in particular.

If you live near Baltimore, I'm going to be at the Enoch Pratt Free Library next month interviewing Jake Solomon (of XCOM and Midnight Suns fame) about what it's like trying to launch a new video games studio amidst... all of this.

Corbyn all but confirmed a new leftwing party over the weekend, suggesting it could bring together independent MPs and councillors "long before" the local elections next year. socialistworker.co.uk/news/corbyn-...

Giant Bomb is now independent "Giant Bomb has new owners, and you're looking at them" - Jeff Grubb

If we can't at least keep Innuendo Studios afloat, it's time to switch the Internet off. Ian's work has helped so many of us navigate the last decade. Let's have his back now that he needs our help.

NEW: Nearly 200 Overwatch 2 devs have unionized at Blizzard. It's the second wall-to-wall union at the studio after the World of Warcraft team did the same last year. Organizing members tell Kotaku the mass layoffs last year by Microsoft was one of the catalysts, alongside pay and RTO policies.

This is absolutely the best, and if I ever accidentally make a mega hit I’m gonna burn it all funding these kinds of experiences.

Thanks so much for letting me fly your ship captain @itsquinns.bsky.social! This was SO much fun to do with friends. Would Helm again.

People Make Games is consistently putting out some of the best gaming coverage that exists.

I couldn't be more excited to watch this video ❤️

This is hands down one of the coolest things I've ever done! I got to be Weapons Officer, and also Brainwashing Puzzler, for People Make Games as we played the spaceship simulator game Bridge Command! I definitely didn't fire any nukes 👀 Ol' nuke-free weapons officer Hollinrake is what they call me

i have not watched this video yet (as evidenced by it being 44 minutes long and posted 23 minutes ago), but: Bridge Command is fantastic, very much recommend for people who like playing pretend and who can get to London. bring your friends!

Whelp. I know what I'm watching tonight.

NEW PEOPLE MAKE GAMES VIDEO! 😅 I've having a big week In London there's a $4,000,000 immersive starship simulator. If anyone would like to see what I'd be like as a sci-fi captain, as of today that is now (tragically) on the record www.youtube.com/watch?v=UROM...

Continuing the trend of Quinns and myself being flung into lavishly-designed roleplay experiences, here's what happened when we boarded a £4,000,000 starship together in London: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UROM...

Surely it’s a little too on the nose that the US Embassy in London has its own moat???

Some I've spoken with believe Wilson's optimism comes in no small part from wanting to go all in on generative AI. If you work at EA and are seeing AI creep into your work like never before I'm [email protected] and ethangach on Discord.
