According to this radical conspiracy theory lefty, I'm a Nazi apologist, because I disagreed with him about Musk's gesture that many on the left interpreted as a Nazi salute. I made a couple of lefty block lists because I speak out against my tribes misinformation and internet rage culture. šŸ¤£

Perhaps. It's going to be interesting to see how the courts interpret state regulations. I gave away my semi automatic rifle to a guy who teaches gun safety to kids with the intent to up grade, but my State banned them. I think its common to assume lefties don't support 2A rights. Many actually do.

We were talking about the original definition of those words. The meaning has evolved as our Courts have interpreted various court challenges to gun laws. There are many regulations that restrict owning certain types of guns and by whom, and it varies State by State.

I read today that a judge put a damper on Trump's DEI attack. I hope the courts hold tight. That was the last obstacle to Hitler's total control.

And militia were "well regulated" civilians ready to defend the State. In other words, todays National Guard and not average citizens, who are clearly not "well regulated" and have a desire to own military style weapons such as machine guns, hand grenades, cannons, etc.

Youā€™ve obviously given this some serious thought. I appreciate the depth of your perspective.

John, I'm curious if you believe Ukraine started the war with Russia as Trump has recently stated? No judgement here, just interested in your perspective on this.

Agree with you 100%. Part of our message should be to stop dehumanizing them and realize the reality that, as a functional society, we share an interdependence with each other for essential goods and services. People on the left don't like to hear it, but many Trump voters are hero's.

In times of disaster like the LA fires, many risk their lives to save others, our political differences don't matter. But with the anonymity of the internet, the hate flies out the door to the point where I think those people should check political affiliation before they accept life-saving help.
comment in response to post
I wasn't trying to single you out because I haven't read your posts. I've just read so much hate here from others and see the division that results. In the real world, red &blue actually share a societal interdependence where we rely on each other for essential goods and services.

You may not see the irony. You say you donā€™t dehumanize anyone but then paint all of your husbandā€™s relatives with broad, negative strokes. Isnā€™t that the same type of judgment you likely criticize in them? Itā€™s a common bias to see flaws in othersā€™ views without noticing similar patterns in our own
comment in response to post
No one said applaud them, just don't dehumanize them or put everyone into the same box. Dehumanizing the 'other' just normalizes the same behavior we object to. Sure call out bad behavior for what it is, but use sound moral reasoning arguments instead of hate. Hate begets hate.
comment in response to post
No. we're critical of Democrats because our leaders failed to deliver a candidate or offer policies that resonated. Supplying weapons used to kill tens of thousands of innocent Palestinians wasn't it. What's nauseating is the constant overreacting to Trump's narrative and dehumanizing Trump voters

The majority of election lawsuits were dismissed before Trump left office, so it was his DOJ in control then. The Supreme Court declined to hear multiple cases because they lacked merit, instead deferring to lower court decisions. I highly recommend you read that summary of court cases that I linked
comment in response to post
Judges across the political spectrum, including Trump appointees, found no credible evidence of widespread fraud. Challenging election results is fine and dandy but continuing baseless claims after repeated court rejections is not lawfare, itā€™s misinformation. Even SCOTUS wanted no part of it.
comment in response to post
I get why you think that. I hope you are careful seeing the propaganda that you are being fed just as I am aware of the propaganda narratives the left use, which I speak out against. Consider that our courts system decided the matter fairly conclusively. Source campaignlegal.org/results-laws...

I think we can agree that both sides spread propaganda and amplify it on social media. However, that 2020 election fraud claim was an outright doozy of a lie, & that fake electors scheme was criminal, leading to multiple indictments, guilty pleas, and disbarment proceedings for Giuliani and Eastman.

We are us. That Musk $5000 Doggy "dividend" proposal is to be given to us taxpayers. Meanwhile Musk is going to need a trillion dollars to establish a Mars colony, which is supposedly to be the savior of humankind. I was trying to be clever with that haiku. I was agreeing with your post.šŸŒœ

MSW= Meuller She Wrote. Many internet media influencers rage bait us similar to the Russian troll farms that promote us vs them division. We need them to post facts, not divisive spin. We need to see that the right wing farmer who grows our food or RW 1st responders who save us are not our enemies.

A trillion for us A trillion for Musk Who owns tomorrow
comment in response to post
While not exactly Universal Basic Income, this $5000 "dividend" aligns with Muskā€™s past support for UBI as AI and Robots reduce our jobs to service work. UBI risks creating a permanent servant class dependent on low wage service jobs while wealth remains concentrated among tech and corporate elites.

Who is 'they' that "want us to suffer"? Ordinary citizens who voted for Trump, GOP politicians or both? I ask because GOP workers like farmers provide much of the food we eat and also provide essential services such as fire fighting, first responders, and medical care facilities.
comment in response to post
Putin had help and that help still comes from internet media influencers that promote division, hate and the dehumanization of those with whom we share a societal interdependence for essential goods and services. If we support rage baiting media, we are helping Putin. Did you agree MSW?

Let's not help Russia divide Americans. We need to stop fighting against each other. We need to understand that we all share a social interdependence for essential goods and services that keeps our nation functioning.

Musk agreed on X with a post that said the U.S. would be in economic trouble for two years after the chaos, then it will be it will recover even stronger. He said, if I remember correctly, "sounds about right".

Welcome to America. It's been that way for a long, long time. Our history is built on exploiting the poor to enrich the wealthy. Keep us divided, and the powerful maintain control. Most don't know they're supporting systems, like internet rage and division media, that harm them in the end.

I get the frustration given the GOP actions. But what is the goal? To gain allies or increase division? Attacking Trump supporters, with whom we should share a societal interdependence for essential goods & services, only reinforces DJT loyalty . Treat them with respect & they might listen to us.

Example of your post with empathy; Hey GOP, I know many of you wanted something different from all of this. Itā€™s not easy to admit when things donā€™t turn out the way we hoped, especially when thereā€™s so much pressure to stay the course. But itā€™s okay, we got your back too. Join us.

If this isn't what they wanted, calling them names will only make them dig in further, even if they have doubts. That's just human nature. If we want to reach them, we need to understand that and use empathy, just as we would with anyone misled by propaganda.

@ George Conway Please tell me when any political system hasn't devolved into violence? That's been the history of our country, our world. When Governments aren't doing it to us, they're doing it, or supporting it around the planet. Welcome to the human race.

The Vietnam war created more chaos and ruined more lives here and in Vietnam that anything Trump can do in 4 more years. Anything Trump does can be undone after he leaves office. The unhealed scars of Vietnam still haunts many families. War and killing is big business around this planet.

Not to defend Trump, but during Obama's term, Russia took Crimea from Ukraine & backed separatists in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Obama responded with sanctions. During Trump's 1st term he sold Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine while not ruling out letting Russia keep Crimea. Just facts.

Trump kept the Afghanistan war going for most of his presidency. In Syria he ordered missile strikes in 2017 and 2018 in response to Assadā€™s chemical attacks. While he often claimed to be against ā€œendless wars,ā€ he continued military operations in Iraq,Yemen,Somalia,Libya & Niger. Facts matter.

Is what you stated a fact? If so do you have the factual data to support your statement that "most of them are just stupid"? I'd be interested in those numbers.

Could you clarify what you mean? Iā€™m just stating facts. Who do you think grows most of the food you eat and provides most of the energy you consume? These are essential services that people across the political spectrum contribute to, which factually points out our interdependence.

right base their opinions and attacks on the extreme fringe elements of the opposing party as if we are all a part of those minority extreme views.

Thereā€™s no doubt that white supremacists supported Trump, but they are a small fraction of his overall base. Maybe 10 to 15%. I agree with you, we need allies not enemies and I can empathize with people who have been burned by Trump. There are however people on the left here who say anyone who voted for Trump is a facist. The guy who I replied to blocked me, so I guess he's not willing to defend his rage bait propaganda.
