Labour MPs speak up against the govt for treating vulnerable people as criminals. Govt to 24/7 snoop on the bank accounts of all benefit claimants. Take money without court order, no right of appeal. The same won't apply to tax dodgers, money launderers, scammers, other recipients of public money.

UK political funding laws are not just a disgrace. They're actively anti-democratic. They openly encourage foreign wealth, which is not answerable to the laws of this country, to buy influence over people who should be responsible only to our own democracy. Labour's failure to act is indefensible.

Steve Reed, "No return to Freedom of Movement, EU Single Market, or a Customs Union" Labour are the blockers to economic growth What an absolute disgraceful let down Labour have turned out to be

Nigel Farage has said Reform UK will have a Minister for Deportations. He added that they would also have a Minister for Dog Whistling, a Secretary of State For Shit Stirring and a Department of Complete Bollocks.

This is appalling. 1.3 million people with cancer, arthritis and more could lose PIP under Labour's benefit cuts www.bigissue.com/news/social-...

Iceland Prime Minister Kristrún Frostadóttir on Iceland joining the European Union "I don't want drive our EU accession talks based on fear" "I think it's more important to look at EU membership as a broad spectrum of culture, economy, finances" "Where do we belong? Do most of our trade?"

Rolling Stone calling it like it is. The NYT and WaPo should be taking notes.

An idea the UK should consider ?

A very strange UK politics where it seems the two traditional parties are targeting the same ~20% of the population and nobody very much cares about the remaining 80%.

Another Post Office boss linked to the Horizon scandal given a job handling compensation claims. Insensitive. Ministers repeatedly been asked to prevent this potential conflict of interests, and pain to the victims. Post Office must have no link with any compensation decision. archive.ph/qFzSg

The government has published no evidence to suggest that cutting disability benefits will get people back to work. The evidence it has published found that these cuts would plunge hundreds of thousands of people into poverty. I’m joining @trusselluk.bsky.social in calling on the gov’t to rethink

"Almost every platoon keeps a 'shawish,' and no infantry force enters a house before a 'shawish' clears it... this means there are four 'shawishes' in a company, twelve in a battalion, and at least 36 in a brigade. We operate a sub-army of slaves." www.haaretz.com/opinion/2025...

Effective payroll taxes for all but the highest paid have gone down in the UK in last 30 years unless you’re earning treble or more the average income. Yet for many it feels like that take-home pay doesn’t stretch as far. It really is a mystery why that is… can’t think why at all. No idea.

It's a bit absurd to describe Farage as "a key Trump ally", as if Trump gives 2Fs for him, and his very muted criticism (hardly an "accusation") was a transparent attempt to finesse the gulf between his own admiration for Putin & lack of support for Ukraine and the views of most of his supporters.

Right-wing YouTuber Tim Pool has made it to the White House pool — someone from his “Timcast” channel will be part of today’s pool duty covering the president. Last year, DOJ revealed Pool was receiving millions of dollars from the Russian gov. Pool says he didn’t know where it was coming from.

Terrific reporting by @nytimes.com. Shame the British media can’t expose this for themselves. Will only fuel suspicion that Farage and his Brexit gang are - and have always been - a Putinist front
