Hello! I'm sure I know many of you from Twitter but my name is Indy, I'm a 19yo naturalist and I live in Sherwood Forest. I work as a wildlife guide in the Hebrides and I love running, campaigning, hiking, big fan of Goshawks and I love learning about the natural world, let's do this! 🦋

🌱🐾 Moles may be unseen, but their earth mounds give them away! Often seen as pests, they help soil health by aerating and mixing nutrients. 🏡Spot fresh molehills? Mark them as “present” in Garden BirdWatch Online -only count them if seen above ground! #CitSci 📸 @arcanelove.bsky.social

A nice corner , perfect for sunbathing . Thank you @m-rowson.bsky.social‬ for today's #FoxOfTheDay

🦉Little Owls are spotted in fewer than 1% of GBW gardens year-round and they’re even scarcer this time of year! That makes this sighting a real treat. What a great video! 🎥 Ever had one in your garden?

Meet Glenn Massacre , nationally appointed Crime Reduction Czar for the driven grouse shooting industry . He thinks it's ok that 134 hen harriers are 'missing' or have been illegally killed since 2018 , most on or close to grouse moors . Add your name petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

That's 🎉75,000🎉 signatures on our petition to get driven grouse shooting banned. @chrisgpackham.bsky.social's pretty chuffed about it! Now, the last 25% needed to reach our target of 100k. Please help us keep the momentum up! Sign here: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

🐝With the warm weather, our first Buff-tailed Bumblebee sightings are in! This one fed on the nectar of a crocus.🌷 Did you know they nest underground in old rodent burrows? Don’t forget—you can record bumblebees in your Garden BirdWatch weekly list!📝 #CitSci 📷 @hughhanmer.bsky.social

Despite what these woke conservationists would have you believe, lead is actually very good for you. Exhibit A:

📢 EXPOSED: Big banks and investors are pouring $ BILLIONS into the salmon farming industry, driving its enormous growth and huge profits at the expense of wild fish populations and communities around the globe. Here are 5 key takeaways from our new report that you should know about 🧵(1/6)

England current has just 13 stretches of inland river designated as bathing water Under govt's new proposals not one of them would have been designated, every single application would have been rejected. This morning all of the current river bathing spots in England are carrying a Do Not Swim

Thames Water claims it needs £3bn in the next few weeks otherwise it's going bankrupt. Reality is the proposed loan is an initial payment of £1.6bn of which £800m is going to be charged in fees and interest. Yep, if this is allowed TW's customers are going to get screwed.

Thank you to @abbefardon for this morning's #FoxOfTheDay - top work!

Foxes on track . A superb snowy #FoxOfTheDay today , shared by @TomDuffinPhotos - top work Tom !

This is the grim story of Asta , a young satellite-tagged hen harrier . Wildlife is just collateral when it comes to driven grouse shooting – it must be banned . Add your name petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70...

All hail @PrivateEyeNews I'm already queued outside my local newsagents, flask, chair, sleeping bag, awaiting doors opening on Wednesday morning.

70,000 signatures to ban driven grouse shooting petition.parliament.uk/petitions/70... Thank you! Please sign & share to help get this petition a parliamentary debate at 100,000.

The nature emergency has not been a high enough priority wao.gov.uk/news/nature-... Many public authorities in Wales have failed to comply with key biodiversity requirements, including the Welsh Government itself. #Nature #Wales @waleslink.bsky.social @iolowilliams.bsky.social

Thank you to @darringreen1969 for today's #FoxOfTheDay - a street fox at night

#Birds 🪶 #Nature #wildlife @bto-gbw.bsky.social @rspbengland.bsky.social @herefordshirewt.bsky.social It's getting a bit feisty out there. 3 Song Thrushes in the garden this am, 2 of them full-on scrapping. 3 Dunnocks doing the same. Blue Tits chasing each other through the sky. Spring's on its way

Is this where bears go?! 🤔

Top work from @antskordis for this morning's #FoxOfTheDay - those eyes !

Hawfinch is a chunky, colourful finch with a massive bill adapted for cracking tough seeds! Its scientific name even means "the kernel crusher that crushes kernels." 🐦💪 One of our Garden BirdWatchers, David Priddis, captured this stunning garden visitor 📷 #UKBirding #GardenBirds

A peaceful birdsong moment in Belfast this morning 🎵 A wheezing Greenfinch singing away and a Chaffinch calling. In the background there's a Mistle Thrush singing softly and a high-pitched Goldcrest (which is very hard to pick out!). There's lots to be found in our local parks and greenspaces! 🌿

Thank you @wildwrendale.bsky.social for this morning's semi-camouflaged #FoxOfTheDay

Well , at least we made the shareholders some more money . #BP

With #BP announcing that they’ll slash investment in renewables, today feels like a particularly good day to sign @chrisgpackham.bsky.social petition to end fossil fuel greenwash👇

Think you know your #GardenBirds? Here’s a tricky one for you! 🧐 This rarity was spotted recently by one of our volunteers, Nick Truby —can you identify it? 👀 Drop your best guess below! ⬇️ We’ll reveal the answer at 6 PM and what's special about this bird. 🪶🔍 #UKBirding #CitSci

It’s always a pleasure to have a visit from @andyhowardphoto.bsky.social & a joy to see his beautiful photos. These gorgeous squirrel & kite shots were taken from our hides on Sunday. Enjoy! @thephotohour.bsky.social @clarehartephoto.bsky.social @naturescotland.bsky.social

Nice light . A beautiful image from @jeromewildastro for this morning's #FoxOfTheDay

Ever heard drumming 🪵🥁 in your garden? Great Spotted Woodpeckers are now regular visitors, seen in 23% of GBW gardens this time of year. They prefer soft woods and dead trees for foraging and nesting. In gardens, they’re often found at peanut and suet feeders. 🐦 #GardenBirds #BirdingUK

Thames Water tells the High Court that it's currently spending £15 million PER MONTH on lawyers and advisers and that next year interest payments on its steaming debt pile will be between £800 to £900 million. Wanna guess who's money it is they're spending? www.ft.com/content/40b5...

happy first birthday to Bluesky, and what a year it's been! with every day, the need for an open network that puts people first becomes increasingly clear. we're glad to be building this with you. after all, the heart of a social network is the people.

C’mon it’s time to vote for the brilliant Michaela Strachen and Mark Hammett on @itvx.com Dancing on Ice itv.com/vote/dancingon… . She’s swapped her fleece for sequins and is shimmering rather than shivering !

Engaged in play . Thank you to @martinroper5462 for today's #FoxOfTheDay

On the prowl . Thanks to @smart0406 on Twitter for this morning's #FoxOfTheDay

Ever wonder why Nigel Farage and his 4 MP's get infinite TV time, while the 5 Green MP's are never seen? It is because one is the establishment, and the other is against them.

Thank you to @hollytburrow for sharing your fox art for today's #FoxOfTheDay
