I was in the immense Canadian D-Day cemetery as young French school kids read a poem to Canada's fallen. "We are your children we are children of liberty." A D-Day vet stood up and said to the students "don't weep for any man here. We would do it all again so you could be free." This is Canada.

just insane. Reviewing a paper on covid in Canada that finds an 11-fold increase in risk of hospitalization in the month after infection. Just absolutely bonkers. I've been doing respiratory virus epi for a long time, and we really don't trade in statistics like "relative risk = 11"
