surreal, so hekki surreal

I wanted to share some of the stories I deeply enjoyed editing at Polygon, particularly narrative features and culture crit around games, the internet, power structures, and community; I'm grateful Polygon gave me the space to do it. I loved working with writers so much

Finally!

🚀 1000xRESIST has been nominated for a HUGO AWARD! 🚀 This is a dream come true for us. Growing up reading/watching Sci-Fi, you come to know the Hugo Award. We're so grateful and honoured to be nominated. It's a wild thing to consider 😳 Hekki grace, y'all.

☘️ March 2025 Media Thread ☘️ It's been a very busy month with lots of travel both for work and personal. But it's a Friday afternoon and I'm poolside so perfect time for some rapid fire. 📽🎬 One of Them Days 💸🧯 Really funny. Friday Vibes. SZA and Keke Palmer were both great.

Relentlessly pursuing the removal of any shred of humanity delivers us this perfect AI generated review of a random tv series on a streaming platform. If you can guess what show this is, congratulations? Also, thank you Mrs. Angel for your tireless work.

I am so very tired

Yeah, maybe time for the league to reassess when a night created as a showcase for fun, skill, athleticism & star power is best summed up by a guy in a suit denying interviews to media partners & players getting DQ'd for cheating to win a competition they otherwise can't bother to take seriously.

God forbid we get a Chris Paul interview after being disqualified from the skills challenge. This is way too serious for that type of shenanigans. 🙄

As others have said, the greatest transfer of wealth in US history will not be from the Boomers to their children but from them to the US healthcare system. The US is designed to make people insolvent and to keep them poor once they're there.

Something something concerns about long term durability.

❤️ February 2025 Media Thread❤️ 🎥📺 Severance: Season 1 🧠👔⌨️ I'm very sorry to all of you that had to wait 3 years for season 2. Cinematography, acting performances, music, and intrigue are exceptional. Had to pick my jaw off the floor during the s1 finale. Now I experience s2 with the world.

If you're here (on Bluesky), you probably already realize all of this. But Alanah does such a great job of articulating things I knew inherently but hadn't put together as a whole thought yet. I joined Twitter in 2009 and Bluesky in 2025. I bet others share a similar experience.

Music experts... is this a spectacularly talented and strong group of 'Best New Artists'?
