I am already preparing to talk to people in person tomorrow to tell them “this is not what we want to do.” Everyone starts somewhere, and more experienced organizers need to take a role to help people beginning that journey.

Every person in the movement is important and provides value. No one person is "better" than another.

As SCOTUS said in Houston v. Hill: The "freedom of individuals verbally to oppose or challenge police action without thereby risking arrest is one of the principal characteristics by which we distinguish a free nation from a police state."

What are you going to do? Are you going to refuse to vote for any Trump backed legislation going forward?

The distinction between "peaceful" and "violent" protests don't matter. The police will always crackdown on any dissent in a fascist regime. It's time that Democratic leaders understood that. Trying to make distinctions is futile. They will crack down on peaceful dissent by electeds all the same.

I think elected officials should NOT be leaders of protest movements. Being elected gives you a different set of responsibilities that you can support a protest with, but not be the focal point. (I'm a local elected official myself, speaking for how I view my role.)

I feel like it’s definitely a “have you taken a trip to Central America this year” list. I have half that number since I started 5 years ago!

I went there two years ago, it's a great festival with some cool locations. The Pinhook Bog trip was super unique and a location only accessible with a guide (locked gate).
