I’ve performed there, seen many a show there, and naturally eaten there. IYKYK… bummer to see Genghis Cohen leave that space. www.dailynews.com/2025/05/29/a...

Spot on… and basically what @sanders.senate.gov has been saying for a couple decades.

🧵 When authoritarian leaders attack judges as "enemies," history shows us exactly where this leads. Trump's assault on "USA HATING JUDGES" isn't just inflammatory rhetoric—it's following a script written by strongmen worldwide. But other countries show us how to fight back.

The most important part of an apology is not saying sorry. It's taking responsibility for what you did wrong and taking action to make it right. Admitting mistakes doesn’t mean you're a bad person. It's an effort to be a better person—and a display of care for another person. link.chtbl.com/RTAdam

Socialism is what they called public power. Socialism is what they called social security.    Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations.   Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people. —Harry Truman, 1952

All these law firms should simply back out of their “deal” with the President just like he has done with countless vendors in his life. There would still be the shame of initially capitulating… and they would incur further wrath, but they would ultimately also prevail in court. #JustSayNo

Guys, it's the oligarchs. If you want to blame someone for 2024, blame the oligarchs. Anyone telling you to blame someone else is part of the oligarchy. Dark money has been to blame since citizens united.

Around D.C., the new going rate is well-known: $5 million for a one-on-one dinner with Trump, but gov-affairs execs have “no clue where the money is eventually going,” one said. Another told me it’s “outer-borough Mafia sh*t.” My new piece is out @newyorker.com www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

@newsnotnoise.bsky.social writes that the narrowly HR passed BBB contains the following: 1. Tying Justice’s Hands: In Section 70302 is a policy that would block courts from enforcing injunctions or restraining orders on government officials unless the plaintiff pays a bond. (1)

More than two years ago, Utah Republicans commissioned a study on gender-affirming care for youth. It just came back, and the conclusion is unambiguous: full recommendation in support of gender-affirming care. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

When Rand fucking Paul is the “reasonable” voice in the room, you know you’ve got a problem.

Switching from Trump’s Amazon to the more diverse, equitable, and inclusive Costco is easier than you think. I made the switch. Now everything I need is delivered by Costco right to my door in two hours instead of two days - and without supporting oligarchs!

“Am I saying that democracy in America has fallen victim to something as base as greed? Yes… I will go further and say that American capitalism destroyed American democracy…Our system today clearly favors oligarchy over democracy.”

"Yes, There Was A Media Scandal In 2024 -- The political press corps started ‘normalizing’ Trump just weeks after Jan 6 '21 to get access. That’s a big reason Trump later won, not some ‘cover-up’ of Biden’s age" | Must-read by @svdate.bsky.social for @huffpost.com: www.huffpost.com/entry/trump-...

Academic freedom in the United States has found itself periodically under siege, but the current attacks from the federal government raise a new level of alarm. nyer.cm/u405qvQ

"Apologists for Israel might want to reject the charge of genocide [and] suggest its hyperbole or even antisemitic, but the actual experts on genocide know a genocide when they see one - and they see one in Gaza." My receipts on all the experts who say Gaza *is* a genocide. zeteo.com/subscribe

While there are many great quotes from this article by @jojofromjerz.bsky.social - this one was my fav: “You’re not Woodward, you’re not Bernstein—you’re the guy who shows up to the Watergate break-in with a selfie stick and a stack of signed headshots, hoping someone will validate your parking.”

I've seen some liberals earnestly argue that rhetorical concessions on youth healthcare or youth sports would get Republicans to back off on other trans civil rights issues. This is a complete misreading of Republicans. They want trans people to suffer and force them out of public life.

Wait, so the same DOJ that asked the judge to let Eric Adams off the hook because the investigation they opened in 2021 is too close to the 2025 mayoral elections just opened an investigation into Andrew Cuomo, running in the same race a month before early voting begins. You can't make this up.

NEW: Reagan appointed federal judge William Young takes a torch to Trump's anti-DEI crusade. "Does that mean our policy is homogeneity, inequity and exclusion?” More from @kyledcheney and me in West Wing Playbook, on newsstands now www.politico.com/newsletters/...

Cato has published my comprehensive review of the ~240 Venezuelans the US government renditioned 2 months ago to Salvador’s notorious prison. We identified FIFTY who came legally, never violated any immigration law, but are imprisoned at the US government’s request and at US taxpayer expense.
