I keep recommending this, but with good reason, it's a wonderful folk horror story set in a remote village in the alps, all the textures are hand drawn in pencil, and you get to drive a little hay truck around the place, it's brilliant.

Folk horror and period pieces have been two of my favourite genres since childhood, and The Witch marries both so beautifully—it's my all-time favourite film for that and numerous other reasons.
And, yes, they killed the fuck out of poor Samuel. 😆
