the dems are elected officials. every single person in the country has the right to criticize their messaging and inaction. this is an asinine take

as your southern neighbor I think you are entirely rational if not have the urgency to do so. the regime we are under is hostile to everything and everyone but itself

this is supremely fucked up propaganda that can lead to military conflict if not war

I don’t have the right words in the right order to uniquely describe how fucking megalomaniacal and evil elon musk is. never had a human before like him. he deserves the worst punishment possible

What he's doing in the federal government now is intended to make the U.S. similarly dependent on him. It won't matter who controls Congress or the presidency if he can turn off social security on a whim. That's the crisis we're all yelling about

as someone approaching 40 and starting to feel the oncoming pangs of aging, this is 100% accurate

this is the most stark photo I’ve ever seen that shows the reality of how police exist to protect property, not people

for what it’s worth, I really enjoy how I follow a lot of Canadian folks on here. it helps me understand perspectives on the united states outside of our own bubble and helps me understand their views on our terrible government. you guys are indispensable to how I get good information these days

anyway here’s a good new song by gigi perez who is very good

like it or not, World War III is a-brewing

Columbia called the cops on students— *like trump wanted*— & this is how Trump responds. One should never comply with evil, but if even your complicity with evil will not save you— & it will not— then why comply? Do not comply; not in advance, not at all. Fight for the right thing, no matter what.

we are already seeing much evidence of this. there are others, but most of the only cisgender people outside of the left I’ve seen come to the defense of trans folks are the parents of trans kids

columbia did this to themselves. the students were always right. if the university had instead stood by the students, they’d be viewed as heroes right now and victims of trump, not the sycophantic cowards that they are

This, but also: The fash are going after Trans people and their ability to make medical choices in part because it allows them to undermine the general principle of medical autonomy (c.f. Gillick Competence) that underpins reproductive healthcare in general.

Might save a life.

the constitution is on life support and in cardiac arrest

This isn't really about anti-semitism. This is about a president who dined with neo-Nazis posturing as a protector of Jewish people. And it's an attempt to pressure a university to shut down free speech on campus.

braindead and trapped in russian disinformation bubbles

america™️

this is, I think, very accurate but I tend to think it’s a combination of both. the hotbed fascism going on in america is very nazi

I wrote section 230 to protect the little guys and the upstarts like Bluesky. Repealing section 230 only helps Meta, Musk, and Donald Trump.

I’m gonna disagree. Dems should say: “You know damn well Republicans don’t care about women’s sports. And you know they get arrested every single day for preying on kids. No wonder they make laws where they get to look in your kid’s pants. They wanted to make a child predator Attorney General.” …

america is not a safe place. I would usually say come visit because there’s a lot of great stuff but really? don’t come here. it’s dangerous. I don’t even travel to certain parts of the united states, like florida or texas, because of how dangerous it is

this isn’t an original statement but elon musk is a fascist racist piece of shit

this is a powerful read, one that damns the americans for their bullying antisemitism. the zelenskyy meeting also triggered me, too. to me, zelenskyy is a hero, a leader of the free world. open.substack.com/pub/snyder/p...

I am aware, as a leftist, that this kind of rhetoric leads to conflict (which we are currently experiencing via tariffs) and open war

amanpour brings up how the whole “51st state” and “governor” rhetoric from trump are jokes. the thing is, with fascists, it’s all a joke until it isn’t. trump thinks he’s a king. this kind of shit could spark a war on the north american continent. glad the canadians are taking this very seriously

meditation, keeping sober, practicing staying calm and not panicking. those will give you the ability to see things clearly In the midst of chaos. and when you can do that, you can write about it

I guess now that I’m not using a handle that is anonymous, a bit about myself: I write poetry, lately mostly prose, journaling, essays on politics and human nature I love the new york mets I am a leftist in a practical but not ideological way; ideology can be dangerous new york pizza is the best

Pedro Pascal responding to transphobia on social media: “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.” (via @charliejane.bsky.social) [capitalfm.com]
