Canyon Treefrogs- Hyla arenicolor -live along rocky creeks in the Grand Canyon and throughout the Southwest. They have a loud call for such a small frog, that to me sounds like a goat. They also vary a lot in color, from nearly white to dark brown.

I'll never forget the incredible feeling of watching a haboob (dust storm) roll off the top and into the deep chasm of the Grand Canyon on July 21, 2021. The blast of air and barrage of lightning that finally hit us caused hundreds of sightseers to flee back towards their vehicle.

An unusual couple of nesters has attracted the attention of Portland-area birders drawn to a story about the peculiarities of nature.

I love when science appears in unique places. My husband has been performing in death metal bands since we were in high school - this study calms some of my fears about his throat health. Plus, it's just exceptionally cool. 🧪https://www.sciencefriday.com/articles/death-metal-singers-vocal-research/

I got up early to get Saturday morning to getMilky Way photos, but I mostly shot twilight and dawn photos, as seen from the Superstition Mountains in Arizona. #landscapes #Arizona #MilkyWay
