That looks like a big Sceloporus magister- the desert spiny lizard. They are definitely masters of their lizard fiefdoms.

I saw it too while at the dog park with Dogberry. It’s tail catching the sunlight at altitude, I love seeing them. The dogs were hardly impressed.

These are impressive snakes, and this one looks big for a juvenile. The Wikipedia page for this species has photos of them eating all these other snakes.

Nice, multiple Cryptantha. It was being visited by pipevine swallowtails when I walked up, but when I tried to get their picture they all split the scene.
