Is the more pressing issue not that protesters in the US are squaring off against US troops?

But my students are always asking me how to say those terms in Latin or asking if I think “quaedam mater puerorum” works, lol.

So hard to figure out why no one is excited for the Democrats anymore.
Why would you welcome Walsh?

My students translate several like this one in my high school Latin class.
I’m gratified to have another example, and one with a picture! I love getting to so Latin that helps the language seem more real and opens up discussion for issues of slavery, class, imperialism, etc.

It’s like watching Josh Lyman campaigning in season 6 of the West Wing.
“A chicken suit! Cuz our opponent is a chicken! Get it?! It’s a metaphor! Of him being scared!”

That was a great read.
I’m not used to seeing “radical” applied to the right; it’s usually “reactionary.”
Is the use here something I’m reading too much into?

Well 1.5 outta 3 for me.
41 and ds9 for sure. But I’m further south.

If they didn’t cause an itchy raised bump I’d let them eat. I have plenty of blood.

I’m not familiar with its usage beyond Trump and before him Reagan.
But with those two data points, I can’t imagine why anyone would want to use it. Has it ever been used by someone not catastrophically awful and dangerous?

I’m so tired of people comparing my job at all to babysitting.
And those outside my field trying to revolutionize it with capitalism.

Oh man, I love that album!!!!
MTB was never again as good (in my opinion) as they were on that album. I loved the music, the song titles, everything.

Getting the right opponent is always a boon, to be sure. And related to that is being born in the right era or decade so as not to be overshadowed or killed (until Antony at least).
I love reading his Latin.
I wish I was as good at constructing English as he was at crafting Latin.

I haven’t watched your yet (tomorrow at work!), so forgive me if this is mentioned.
I do a whole unit on Cicero and bias with my students and the fact that he was elected to all offices, including consul, suo anno, and as a novus homo is wild.

So I just learned, because of your post, that there’s an anti war poem taken from the Horace line. Neat!

Easily one of my favorite games of all time; I’m almost 500 hours in and I haven’t even hit the mod scene really.
Glad you’re enjoying it!

Yea, you just wish they’d start earlier for their own sale and yours.
I let students redo all quizzes as many times as they want up to a 90, but there’s a deadline each quarter. This time it will be May 29, so I’ll have about 10 hours of grading to do on the 30th.

Have you started getting “what can I do to fix my grade?” emails yet?
Cuz it’s about that time for me to start getting. Prolly on Monday after prom is over.

Me. Even at 41, I still love going to a sports game just for this.

I don’t like beer; I don’t really care about sports.
I like that baseball is a relaxed game where I can chill with my family. And I like the Dippin Dots.

I unironically love it.

Agree. Philosophy aside, the prose is insufferable.
But also: the philosophy is also insufferable.

That person had third degree burns and only sued for medical expenses.
That story is NOT one of frivolous lawsuits or ppl not following simple directions. She spilled coffee on herself and needed extreme medical care.

Aren’t most US Catholics democrats? Isn’t the religious right a Protestant movement?
Or do the evangelical still want to support the pope?

But action like this doesn’t have to be effective to achieve a goal.
Bringing media attention to an issue & forcing them to cover what you want them to cover is valuable. So is visibly making a stand, to energize the base.
Dems are the minority in all branches. But I’d still like to see them fight
