We had a great time. 90% of the cars that passed us honked, waved, gave a thumb’s up or a power fist, and some drivers did a “hands off” gesture on their steering wheels. Only two or three drivers yelled obscenities at us. That feels like a big win considering the demographic of this town.

Our local Indivisible group arranged the protest to take place on Main Street at one end of the downtown area. A couple dozen people lined the side of the road on both sides. It was a warm, sunny day, perfect for the protest, but left us wishing we’d thought to buy sunscreen.

I've only recently started using it a lot (I'm old) & I am shocked at how much Trump Right wing Maga garbage it's pushing my way. There is 0% chance that's algorithmic, I'm the last person on earth for that shit

Just a few weeks ago, the governor of Iowa specifically removed “gender identity” from the state's anti-discrimination protections, becoming the first state to make such a change.

Under the list of examples of hate speech provided on YouTube’s policy site, the line “[Protected group status] is just a form of mental illness that needs to be cured,” was also removed.
