I miss Edinburgh a lot. Lived there for a couple years. Beautiful city.

Nope! Totally agreed. I donāt want some futuristic looking thing with a giant touch screen interface. Just a regular looking car with actual buttons and an electric motor. Iām hoping things change by the time Iām ready to buy an EV but doubt it

Love it - wanted to do the same for 3D printed cable management parts but didnāt want to have to learn openscad, your repo is great inspiration

How vital is it to validate the # of digits after the decimal point, or can you just let it round during INSERT? If you can then min(0) and max(999.99) is what Iād do. Only other thing I can think of is a regex rule, but not sure if that rule would cast the number to a string before evaluating š¤

I switched back to a regular looking email because of this, I found that lots of customer support people would think itās an invalid email, or Iād have trouble communicating the ānope .me is realā part

So, pay check comes in, you immediately assign it to categories for future spending. If you assign your money as itās spent, itās really nothing more than a glorified spreadsheet.
But if youāre interested in YNAB to begin with you probably know all of that already :)
comment in response to

Everyone else covered some good tips. Only tip I have is YNAB only works well when you fully adopt the zero based budgeting technique. If youāre only reactive (categorizing after you spend) you wonāt see much value in it. You really gotta be proactive (categorize before spending) to see the value

Is it multiplayer? If not Iād agree, make it client-driven as much as possible. If it is I think take a page from other online multiplayer games, have the client be as opportunistic as possible to reduce lag but have āimportantā decisions (like hit reg in an FPS) be done on the server

It's half a protest for me tbf... but also because everything on Twitter now seems like engagement bait to get impressions and a pay out from their ad sharing program
There's starting to be some engagement bait here too but at least there's less of an incentive for it

Agreed, 10M rows is peanuts for any RDBMS, but I think it says something about optimizing PKs for projects that wonāt ever see anywhere close to that number

UUIDv7 is the best of both worlds, lexicographically sortable and doesnāt have INSERT performance penalties from having to rebalance a btree!

Also have had a smart thermostat, 100% recommend those. And smart blinds.

I fitted our place out with just smart bulbs. Wouldnāt recommend. Itās annoying when someone turns off a light switch and the bulb loses power and the ability to be controlled.
Would recommend smart light switches instead, and there are some that can also talk to the bulbs to change temperature.
