Spot on. I used the term vapid unscheduled disassembly for her speech yesterday. This was worse.

So, if you took a fixed rate mortgage for 5 years in 2020, it's just unwinding now, at a higher rate than then. So, you could have been better off 3 years ago with high inflation and low wage growth than this year 2/2

Thanks for this. Very helpful. You can see the lagging effects elsewhere over longer terms. For instance wages rates are up and inflation is down so why aren't people more confident? Compare to the 90s downturn in consumer confidence there are more fixed rate mortgages than then! 1/2

Intra firm movement of components internationally is likely to be an issue. I remember a gear box that moved 5 times before leaving as a final product. Also, Some UK companies had 3 year supply deals that probably won't be replaced.

Tomorrows big exporters started as small exporters. Cut them off now and the longer term is worse.

I started off thinking she was a 10 lettuce leader. Cut it to 7 after first PMQs. Pondering reducing it to 5.

To think a few weeks the Mail and Telegraph were saying that she was the leader labour most feared. The other candidates have grounds to sue now!

I like the idea of sandwiches identifying as non granary

You both outlasted him too. If the unit of time for a Truss is a lettuce then it should be a pfeffel for you. 2 more pfeffel to next election

No change, no pause, no hope! Yet I endure. I ask the Earth, have not the mountains felt? I ask yon Heaven, the all-beholding Sun, Has it not seen? The Sea, in storm or calm, Heaven's ever-changing Shadow, spread below, Have its deaf waves not heard my agony? Ah me! alas, pain, pain ever, for ever!

Is their a precedent for mutual recognition of say legal qualifications with a third country. We've been round this for years with no progress, surely. In FS the EU insisted on an equivalence regime not mutual recognition because of potential regulatory arbitrage.

Looking forward to reading this. William Heath pointed me to it. I blogged on this some time ago here www.longfinance.net/news/pamphle.... Hope you find it interesting too.

You might find something I wrote in 2019 helpful here. I've thought about updating it, but want to leave it as of its time. sluggerotoole.com/2019/11/01/2...
