I think a lot of execs need to start realizing the pool of people buying capital G Games the way we’ve thought of them and defined them for my whole life is likely as big as it’s gonna get
The youth do not care about the games that would headline an E3 from 2013-2019

Cyberpunk has been the only non-Nintendo launch game I have been on the cusp of grabbing out of sheer curiosity lol

There's also prob something to be said about the 3.5 mil hardcore player base supporting Cyberpunk 2077, the one major third party title shipping the full game on the cart and not messing with key cards

Yeah I vastly prefer 1, I do understand the hype of some of these levels specifically the Barrel Blast/Stickerbrush Symphony one but outside of some very high highs and lovely presentation it was really a chore. Had to read some old forums to see if I was crazy. Grateful for NSO save states lol

Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest - Beautiful art, love a pirate themed adventure, but lord I don’t remember DKC1 being as…annoying? as this when it comes to the amount of times where challenge just felt unfair w enemy placement, slippery platforming, too many gimmicks. Great music though!!

often a tabletop thing where the DM/GM will let something fly even if it goes against the rules/canon/lore bc its sick and creates a moment or mechanic that makes the players experience more meaningful

I am being extremely serious re: franchise fatigue. this is ignoring the two multiplayer games they have been cooking for years one of which I believe got canceled?

it all comes back to people trying to showboat and prove their truth as a REAL fan by knowing more facts bc they want to feel like they won something

Nintendo IP being unchained from the weight of canon is what makes them good and exciting while everyone questions why people are bored that there's a fifth Horizon game being made lol

I think I would pay Nintendo another $50 to get rid of the gradient borders

But did Diddy steal her guitar bit??? She’s MIA in DK64 and suddenly dude is shredding every time he accomplishes something that was her thing man

She was the best tag partner in Tropical Freeze also this is not surprising to me

Claiming they're changing enemy AI, altering solo and duo play, making combat "more engaging", changing visuals (to what extent bc of controversy?), and adding a story paired with their hiring of a new Creative Director last month feels pretty extensive to me

Like in theory, the big overhaul that's being detailed could amount to making this something really neat but I don't know how much grace and runway they get out of PS? Can they get another year to cook? Longer?? I really don't know man.

Right I mean to say the indefinite delay part of it is more what is causing this "new" concern imo, not even a window or repeating the previous FY25 deadline with a laundry list of overhauls puts it in this weird limbo where it feels it could just end up dead on a random Tuesday

I think it just feels futile, sentiment on the game could not be lower than it is right now and I don't think the people who are soured on it are going to forget about how it got here, those feelings will just fester in time especially with an indefinite delay looking to overhaul so much
