Drinking Game for Election Night…every time Rosie takes off her glasses you drink.

Back in 1938 it was “Peace in Our Time” but in 2025 it’s “Vladimir, STOP”

This is honestly giving mercantilism a bad name. Arbitristas in 17th-century Castile who wanted to keep silver at home and encourage domestic cloth and steel production sent letters to Philip IV with more sophistication than this.

This is the smartest take I've seen RE: US tariffs. It's from @TheStalwart.

I can't even begin to imagine what the USA will look like in four years time.

I remember noting on another service that with an opposition leader screaming axe the tax and a minority government this might not be the wisest financial decision. With the recent termination of the consumer carbon tax what happens to these guarantees from Nov 2023? www.ctvnews.ca/politics/art...

I’m honestly curious how long Americans will put up with this. It’s not to say they can recover what they’ve lost, significant damage is done but they are the only people who can push these demagogues and grifters out of office. We’re talking nationwide protests though, do they have it in them?

Getting very lonely up here in Canada. Whoever takes over better have a plan.

One of the frustrations with more extremist politicians is the changes they are trying to make are often so aggressive that it divides people and instead of finding the middle ground they're either right or wrong. For example, I think the majority of people feel that there is waste in government.

Listen, I think it’s a waste of time keeping up the facade that this isn’t professional sports but what do we think is more likely…that the players got smarter under a new coach or that the new coach was better at helping them cheat? These boys are worried about making it to the NFL not reading.

It will be curious to see what happens to the conservative movement as Alberta digs their heels in and Pierre is forced to take a position on border tariffs. I don't know who will fill the void but if Pierre aligns with the rest of the country there will be voters looking to more extreme options.

1/ You may have seen us talk about formaldehyde — a chemical that causes an inescapable cancer risk for everyone in America. It’s in the air we breathe. And it’s in our homes: our couches, our clothes, even babies’ cribs. So what can you do to reduce your exposure? THREAD 🧵

Great thread. Milov is no slouch. I had beers with him in March in Vilnius, and he was bearish on the Russian economy then, when things looked hottest. I think he's being proven quite right.

Hasan Piker rightly pushes back on the idea that the Democrats simply need their own Joe Rogan, telling CNN "It's 100% a policy thing," calling for "real left-wing economic populist messaging instead of purposely avoiding that stuff because they're terrified of upsetting their corporate donors."

Interesting to contrast Trudeau's rise in popularity ahead of 2015 with PP right now. Maybe the Liberals are learning from Harper and recognize that their approach to previous leaders (Scheer, O'Toole) isn't as effective with Pierre. Not sure if it will matter but it's interesting as they sit back.

Just to clarify if the denier perspective is that earth goes through its cycles and will continue doing so regardless of what we do. Then allowing them this reality…should we still not try to understand those cycles and how they will impact our ability to survive as a species?

If you were a conspiracy theorist…the fact that 2/3 helicopters landed safely but the only one that failed was Raisi’s would be the first thing you point too. I’m not saying anything though, just minding my own business.

Pushback is starting, more and more people are realizing these are wasteful projects designed to maintain the status quo and force us into a brown energy transition. We need new voices and not the same people who exploited us if we're going to figure this out. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Such a parcel of rogues in a nation.

Nobody does more pointless PD work than the insurance industry. The poster child for busy work, they might be the second highest user of bullshit certifications and trainings behind government workers.

You’d think something that elicited a “that’s a fucking penalty” on the broadcast would get a replay or highlight. Anybody got one on that alleged hand pass?

You will never convince me this isn’t a cover-up. ground.news/article/shoh...

Trying to figure out what national crisis could elicit a nationwide alert in a country this large.

We've arrived at the point where Conservatives are simultaneously contributing to Parliament's dysfunction while also claiming that said dysfunction is justification for an election. The best part is you can see a world where the roles are reversed and the Liberals do the same thing. 2 Peas 1 Pod

Boy is this story gross for the Strathcona County's local government. Forcing a land sale under false pretenses only to turn around and give the land to a private group for free? The spin zone about how there is no taxpayer cost is funny considering the county is paying $1 million a year and land.

How did we get here and how do we get back to sensible discourse on our climate?

Far too many people presenting the crisis of the moment as justification for Federal overreach. If the system doesn’t allow the Feds to do something they need to change the rules not ignore them. We all need to play by the rules or it will breed further resentment and radicalization in the west.

Went on LinkedIn again and was reminded of what a crapshoot that has become. Some people trying to provide valuable info and then a bunch of spam shoved down your throat. Then a group of people who just want to post Facebook style opinions and gargle each others balls. No wonder Canada is broken.

I'm a firm believer that the Liberals lost % of their former voting base but the reality is that if the economy improves in any measurable way you will start to see people drift back. People say they'll vote CPC but they don't say they like PP in the same numbers. Seems to indicate frustration.
