I've spent the last 26 years making the world more cynical, one child at a time. Now I'd like to see what we can do for the rest of them.

Oh, did you get up to Menagha? Or did you just have an opportunity to chase some grasshoppers? 😄

Wait - you're Finnish? I had no idea!!

Oh yeah that sounds like a PITA. Pretty, probably, but... Hope you get some good rest, however you choose to sleep!

BTDT. Such a deflating feeling. Don't sleep on the floor tho. Put the sheets on if you have it in you, or lay the flat out on the bed and have a suboptimal but sort of comfy night, so you have the strength to deal with tomorrow.

It was a nice feeling to realize I could afford to buy what I wanted and not hang on to something less-then-ideal because "It's still good!" Didn't happen until my mid-40s, IIRC.

I still end up with random plastic containers, usually from my Mom sending leftovers home w/ me, so I periodically return those to her or pass them on to others. I chose Rubbermaid bc they were affordable and I don't reheat stuff in them (plastic). Heard good things about the glass systems though.

I picked a system (Rubbermaid in my case) and bought a couple sets that covered all the sizes I was likely to use. That way all the lids match, everything nests in the cabinet, etc. Then I gave my daughter (who was just starting out) first pick of the odd stuff, tossed what didn't have lids etc.

-15 and "geez louise" told me Minnesota even before I saw the Prince stuff. :)

You got married? Congrats! AirBNB seems like such bullshit to me though; with the extra cleaning fees and all that it ends up being more expensive than a hotel. Plus, harder to confirm accessibility (I'm cane-dependent now) and parking. Might consider it if we were staying several days though.

I want every single one of America's crapholes to have secure housing, food, healthcare, and education. They all deserve lives of peace and safety, the jerks.

There's a Trivia Night in Grove City?

Thank you! We got OJ but didn’t remember Blake.

Still feel slightly bad/awkward for ex-spouse's wife; she always seems like she's uncomfortable at these events and I'm not sure why. She's great, family likes her, no one is favoring me over her. I always feel like I want to give her some kind of encouragement, but that would be weird.

I'd vote for you, except... (and I'm trying to be kind, here) isn't part of the problem that too many elected officials are of what used to be called retirement age?

Aztecs and Cruisers were ugly/weird, but they didn't have the tendency to burst into flames OR the obnoxious cult-like followings Cybertrucks do. So I think we'd still hate Cybertrucks, even without the lingering scent of Musk.

What "computer crimes" did they think you had committed?

Now we each have new reading to do! :) Also rec the novel Pioneer Girl (Bich Minh Nguyen) and nonfic The Wilder Life (Wendy McClure). Both are about reflecting on having loved the series as a child, visiting the sites, etc. If you like that sort of thing, which I do (been to most of the sites).

Are you referring to Prairie Fires? SUCH a good, well-researched book! Or is there a newer book I need to know about?

You've been on a real lemon kick lately, haven't you? Looks great!

The Honorable Mr. McKagan would never accept a position in the Trump Administration. "But you just said, “if Trump wins.” That’s the scariest thought ever in American history, it really is." (from 2016: www.alternativenation.net/guns-n-roses...)

I can barely hear myself think, what with the shopvacs and the tearing down of ceiling tiles and such, but it would be churlish to mention it, right? 😄

I know I had Everclear once; I don't remember what we mixed it with, but I know my BIL spilled some on the kitchen floor and it stripped the color from the linoleum. Never tried it again.

With conditioner (and shampoo) I add some water and shake it up. Gets a few more uses out of it. Haven't found a solution for the lotion, though.

Aw, that sucks. I'm sorry.

That was lovely, Bob. Thanks for sharing it.
