I use these and they work great.
When we get an open API to access the Find My network, it will be truly useful.

This is so lazy of them. If you don't want to support them, then open source the code so people can create their own control servers with something like @home-assistant.io

The Octopus Go tariff might seem cheaper but it's for fewer each day. The Cosy is really the one to go for if you have a heat pump, I think.
Though Agile could work too, but it would be very unpredictable

No, please don't. That's private.
It was your comparison to a four bedroom house that made me a bit skeptical about your claim. It's not the bedrooms that use electricity, it's the people, so referring to number of bedrooms is irrelevant, I think.
But sounds like you properly diagnosed this.
comment in response to
post
Ok, sounds like reasonable steps to take to diagnose.
Just a thought: could it be a garage or annexe that might have a separate circuit from the meter. I also heard stories of electricians mixing the wires of neighbours in terraced houses. It's very odd a meter would keep ticking without any load.

Genuinely curious, how do you know your meter is overcharging you? Did you get a CT clamp reading? Did you disconnect everything and tested with things you know for sure how much power they draw?
Seems very vague to say my usage resembles a four bedroom house.

There are tariffs specifically designed for heat pumps and EVs with unit price as low as 7p/kwh at certain times of the day and/or night.

Get a second opinion. Some installers are used to old gas boiler principles where they oversize the system by a factor of 2x or more.
My gas boiler is 30kW for some reason, but a 6kW heat pump would be plenty

I had a heat pump install quote from Octopus of just £500. That's toatal cost kf parts and labour, including new radiators. Just saying...

Changing the name of a brand that had reached the level of naturally being turned into a verb by everyone is so stupid.
But "post" instead of "tweet" will do just fine

See prices.fly.dev – it's less accurate but gives you a longer term forecast.

I'm sorry for the people who will unfortunately be affected by this, but I am happy that my electricity bill is finally going to go down again after a period of very high prices due to extremely low wind generation

I wouldn't be so dramatic. Yes, it's expensive right now, but over the past year I saved 40%

Some people love their job. As they say, you'll never work a day in your life if you love what you're doing.
But if your employer is not recognising your passion and dedication, then yes – go freelance.

Not for everyone! In my area we had Power-Ups (free electricity time slots) every day for the first half of the month. I don't remember ever having them so frequently.
Once those get calculated (takes a few weeks) it might end up being the cheapest month since I moved to Octopus.

It's not too dissimilar to fossils - each doesn't paint a clear or reliable picture of that period, but with enough of them, you can start to see beyond the individual

Move to a Power-ups postcode 😜
We've had 2-3h free electricity every day of this year

I would have thought batteries and solar would make Agile an even better fit: charge the batteries at night or with solar (depending on the season) and use it during peak times.
Maybe even export to the grid during days like tomorrow where Agile Export pays up to 58p

Welcome to the club 🙂
You have to look at it long term.
Definitely not at just a few days over this winter, which has been annoyingly high priced.
If you're flexible, you can definitely make significant savings

It obviously depends on your usage patterns, but it's only been a handful of days this winter when prices have been this high. For the majority of the time Agile has been well below SVT price cap

It's your email client's fault while trying to be clever about substituting background colour.
Yes, they could test their email templates with more clients and settings, but email is such an outdated protocol it's beyond belief.
I coded email marketing and it is a real pain in the rear.

There are strategic national interests to consider too. Keeping the nuclear industry going could be more important for France than the cost of one reactor – they have 50+ domestic reactors to maintain, they build reactors all over the world, including the UK, and they have nuclear weapons to manage

A wall charger would be a permanent fixture of the property which would add value both for rental and resale. So it would make sense to agree with your landlord a small discount on your rent over a number of months to cover the charger and installation. They'll end up keeping it anyway
comment in response to
post
I don't have an EV yet so maybe I'm not best to comment, but a dedicated wall charger can output 7kW (most of them) or even 24kW (a select few), as opposed to the measley 3kW a domestic 3 pin plug can handle.
So using a wall charger you can maximise the very low or negative price slots.

Those days were highly unusual if you look at the history of the Agile tariff. As opposed to days with a negative unit price which are quite common.
