I only just found out the Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau, so now I’m really hoping the Bucks can replace Doc Rivers with him. That would be such an upgrade (and probably a good fit for Giannis)

Nice. The seats (at least in Business class) seem decently comfy, which is nice.

So exciting! Who wants to see pics of factory progress of the new Amtrak Cascades trainsets? Follow the link for more photos. Enjoy! amtrakcascades.com/about/new-am...

Flying back to Milwaukee, so if y’all could clear out the smoke, that’d be great

It's impossible to make sense of American zoning, historically or today, without understanding that it has almost nothing to do with separating residential and classic nuisance. It's a mechanism of segregation, that's it.

It’s funny to me that I usually have to wait the same amount of time for an Uber as I do for the bus

Ngl, I’m a doubter of these Polish presidential results. Trzaskowski was leading by 10-15 points in the polls leading up to the election and somehow loses in a nail biter? I don’t buy it

Ventra pride card kicks ass this year

I’m so excited to announce that my book was published today! The book retells the life of Charles Sumner, an abolitionist senator who co-framed the Reconstruction Amendments. I wrote this book with my blood, sweat & tears as a student at Yale Law School. (1/x)

24-year-old Dem Keishan Scott just won tonight's special election in SC by 41 points. Two key notes: • It's a 36-point overperformance vs. 2024—the second-biggest of the year • The district has a 51% Black voting-age pop, making it the first majority-POC district to hold a special this year

I feel like a King St streetcar in Alexandria would be really good. Just run it from the Metro/Amtrak stop down to the river

You know, I don’t think it says good things that my trip from Rockville to Alexandria is faster and more convenient via the metro than regional rail, despite the fact that these two stations have an ostensibly direct connection

Loving my @wmata Red line operator who’s announcing the station stops like a radio DJ

‘Growing MKE’ Proposal Picks Up Key Endorsement by @jeramey.urbanmilwaukee.com

I’ll say for myself the reason I don’t start a tab is I almost always get one drink and I don’t want to have to deal with closing the tab later. (If I think I’ll do more than one, I’ll open a tab) My favorite bar, Buckley’s, essentially does tab only (in that it’s like ordering at a restaurant)

Happy Pride!

Look who’s on my flight to DCA Resisting the urge to call him a piece of shit

Some photos of the Milwaukee airport rail station under construction. While quite nice obviously, the significant expense ($17 million I think) does seem worth the utility (8 trains per day)

From Brian Greenlees (mtdbri) showing a full day of CTA and Metra operations. It really shows how much potential Metra has as a regional rail system if they just ran more frequently (and how strange it is to have no cross-metro line)
